  1. Okay, I've been using Kirkland 5% minoxidil liquid solution, I use the liquid solution because it cover surface area better than foam. My thinning has been more of my left side head and near the middle and my temple areas.

I've been using it for about, a year and a half, it maintains well but I was wondering if there is another brand that would help me see better results.

    Any recommendations are appreciated, Thanks!

  2. I have been on finsteride for almost two years now, its helped alot but i'm noticing slow rescission in my temple areas and around my top. I was thinking of going of dusteride, would that help strengthen my temple region? Has anyone had good results with this medicine? Also how much does dusteride run for? I know fin is midly expensive.

Also, I was wondering if there is a difference in minoxidil brands, I asked this question and while ago and go no response. Is kirkland monixidil liquid solution inferior to a top brand like rogaine?

If someone could help me answer these questions, I would greatly appreciate it!

  3. Hi,

I am using 5% minoxidil (not foam) and I am experiencing flaking on the scalp like I have seen many others do. I see some people suggest using the foam, but the problem is that the foam version does not exist in my country, and it is quite difficult to import it from other countries as well.

So I am just wondering; does the flaky skin caused by minoxidil inhibit the hair growth effect from minoxidil? Because it is not bothering me that much, its just that I have the feeling that it is not good for my scalp and my hair.

    Anyone? :)

    Thanks!

I have been experiencing the same thing, I have been using Kirkland Minoxidil and it has been making my scalp itchy.

  4. Okay so basically does creatine cause a increase in shedding or hairless? I have been using creative pre workout before I lift for about 2 weeks and I have noticed a slight increase in shedding. I also take protein drinks after my workout too but I have been using protein for months and the shedding has been regular. But I am wondering if my increase in shedding is due to the creatine?

If someone with experience with this could help me out I would greatly appraite it.

  5. Okay, I have been on finasteride 1mg daily for about a year and a half. I have also been on kirkland Minoxidil liquid once daily for about 2-3 years. I am about a norwood 2-2a, 24 and have been experiencing hairloss since 17. When I first started fin (around age 22) I noticed a slow down in my hairloss and a increase in density when I was using rogaine foam but I have been using kirkland for about the past 8 months and havent noticed a increase in density.

Now here comes my questions,I have been hearing about this dutasteride (avodart) around the forums and I am wondering if I should maybe switch over? Is it worth switching over? Also, I was wondering if there is a difference in a brand of minoxidil? Is Rogaines minoxidil a superior to other brands?

If someone can help answer these questions I would greatly appreciate it.

  6. You're already using the two best medical treatments available. However, I would suggest towel-drying your hair thoroughly before applying minoxidil. I would also allow the minoxidil to dry for at least 15 minutes prior to applying styling products or blow-drying. You want the medication to be absorbed into the scalp. This is stated on Rogaine's own website FAQ.

Can I apply ROGAINE® products to wet hair?

The people in our clinical studies were advised to completely dry their hair and scalp before applying ROGAINE® products. However, that's not always possible. We suggest that you at least towel-dry your hair before applying ROGAINE® products so that your hair is no longer dripping.

Can I still use my regular styling aids, like hair spray or gel, when using ROGAINE® products?

You may follow your normal hair care routine when using ROGAINE® products. However, you should apply ROGAINE® product first and wait for it to dry before applying your styling products.

I'm not aware of any studies that have been done on the effects of fish oil on hair loss or hair growth. However, I doubt that it's having any substantial effect either way.

You may be experiencing a temporary, seasonal shed or it could be that your hair loss has become more aggressive.

Thanks for the advice, ill start waiting to blow dry my hair from now on.

  7. I noticed my hair thinning a little more in the mid section and front of the scalp, its slow but noticeable to me and somehow the hair just seems weaker there and it falls out easier than the hair near my crown. I have been on finsteride 1mg, for about a year and 3 months. I have been on rogaine foam for 8 months and switched to liquid this previous 7 months. I have been apply it in the mornings while my hair is wet right out of the shower then blow drying it so it drys quicker. I was my hair with paul mitchells shampoo every morning, and use his green tea formula once a week. I use biotin, 10,000 mcg every day.

I also work out and consume protein called triple impact protein by nutrology and these pills called omega cuts which contain fish oil which some people say increase hairloss, is this true?

Anyways my question is, is there something I could be taking or possibly do to decrease my hair loss?

  8. I've been using Paul Mitchell's regular shampoo, every day and his green tea formula once a week. I have been one rogaine liquid, once a day in the morning. I want to start using nizoral shampoo cause I read alot of good things about it, so I have a couple questions.

Should I keep using Paul Mitchell's, or is there a better and safer brand for your hair to use with nizoral?

Is it okay to was my hair once, or sometimes twice a day?

because I shower in the morning then I workout after work and I'm wondering if its okay to wash twice a day.

Also, when I apply my rogaine liquid formula, does it matter if my hair is wet or dry when apply to it?

    Thanks!

  9. Okay, so i'm going to ask the awkward question... I've been wondering about the affects of masturbation to hair loss. I've been getting mixed answers and I was wondering if excessive masturbation causes an reaction within the hormones that would cause an acceleration of hair loss somehow. Also, what would be considered healthy masturbation?

  10. Okay, here is how I apply my monoxidil. I use the liquid form immediately after I get out of the shower while my hair is wet, apply it where it is needed. Because monoxidil makes your hair dry slower, I use a blow dryer for like 1 minute to fasten the drying process so I can style after it dries quicker, is monoxidil still effective if I do this?

  11. Fin made my scalp even oilier than before I started, could be seborrheic dermatitis from an oily scalp.

It didn't work for me so I stopped fin.

I have noticed that my hair does get a little more oiler in the day, I went for a haircut 3 weeks ago and every time my hair stylist combed my hair tons of dead skin would get all over the comb, it was so embarrassing and disgusting.

I was using head and shoulders but then my stylist recommended Paul Michaels and this green tea shampoo that I use 3 times a week, then I use nizoral on sundays at the end of the week. My dandruff has been less but still freaks me out.

I guess i'm going to try and pull through it and keep taking finsteride, thanks patriot for your reply.

  12. Okay, I've been on finsteride for about 6-7 months now and for some reason the shedding picked back up again. The shedding was excessive during the first 1-4 months of taking finsteride but after months 4 it slowed. Now, its back and I'm noticing some small dandruff flakes that look yellowish every now and then.

It's not excessive but I seem to pull a couple yellow flakes off my hair everyday. I just assumed I was putting too much monoxidil on my head but after 3 months I'm still picking a few flakes off my head. Is this normal?

Also, I just started working out again so can the excessive shedding be a part of that? Please help, thank you!

P.S. I use Rogaine foam (once a day) Finsteride 1mg everyday, Nizoral once a week, Paul Michaels hair wash, crew conditioner.
