  1. Do yourself a favor read about the 1 million things that can wrong with hair transplants. Understand scar is forever and you'll never be able to cut your hair short to have cool bald haircut. No matter what drugs your on you'll keep losing your hair requiring need for more surgery and more chance you'll need more surgery exponentially increasing risk each time. Don't get a transplant from anyyone. Drs here post the good results the bad ones are misc posts and people hiding from mistake rest of their lives.

Yes you may have a good transplant with acceptable scar but likelihood you'll regret it immediately or over time is much greater.

Dont do this. Shave your head get a tan work out or get a hairpiece...they actually look real good.

Not responding to anyones BS response. Truth is above. Make a good decision stay away.

  2. Im sorry but I don't see any difference at all.

This is coming from someone also in need of repair.

    Hi All,

I wanted to share my SMP journey at Shapiro Medical Group (SMG). I have been to SMG three times this year for a progression of temporary SMP. I have been researching SMP since its inception. I decided on temporary SMP as I am not sure that the stability of permanent inks is where it should be yet (color shifting, etc)

NicOle007 did an amazing job! She explained everything in detail as we went through each session.

I can't express enough how this has changed my life. My wife says that she has never seen me this excited about my hair.

As can be seen in the first two photos, my donor area was a mess.I had FUT done in the late 1990s. Needless to say, Suture closures were not what they are today.

Photo #1 best shows my sparse donor area in the upper left hand corner. The lower left shows the me after SMP with dry hair.

Photo #4 shows a closeup of the SMP dots. Notice how natural the dots appear. They look like hair stubble.

I know that SMP can be a controversial topic. I was one of the lucky ones. The ink took very well in my donor area.

Would I ever consider permanent SMP? Sure, when I believe that it has matured to a place where the concerns that people have about ink stability are no longer precent.

I am very thankful that SMP worked for me. I am especially thankful that Nic0le007 at SMG was able to help. SMP has honestly changed my life.

  3. Hey. I think fraxel can help color too. Vbeam is designed to eliminate redness. In my case 6 vbeam a made huge difference in redness.

I've looked into due but my scar is like Grand Canyon and don't have enough scalp hair to cover it. Talked with dr. about beard hair in scar and I'm open to it.

Problem is hair below my scar is really weak so even if did 3 mega beard sessions, it grew and my face didn't scar I'm still destined to lose hair below scar and that wouldn't be a good look.

  4. You very well may be right on the fraxel. And you are right on the cortisone injections. They absolutely flattened my scars a huge amount. Thing is if I do anymore cortisone my scars could become indented. And with SMP an indented scar is absolute worst scenario. Worse than being slightly raised. Im pretty determined not to make my situation worse. Ive also talked to tons of guys who did SMP and fraxel in almost every case fraxel flattened their scars. My dr is very confident it will as well.

Moreover I don't even think SMP is the greatest solution either. Im well aware it could fade or turn blue. Id honestly give it a 30% chance of working at best. And I don't even care if people see my scar I just want it passable so I can move on.

Im doing last vbeam tomorrow actually. Then a test patch with fraxel in 6 weeks. Ill keep everyone posted so at least I can help someone else who is considering fraxel.

  5. Jrbiz,

I have pretty ferocious strip scar 5 to 14mm all the way around past my ears. It was I totally raised dramatically and redder than the devil.

I did several rounds of cortisone shots which made a huge difference in how raised it was instantly.

I've also done 5 rounds of vbeam am laser to get the red out. That also has made a significant difference in the redness.

I'm doing 1 more vbeam and then doing some Fraxel. Will keep you posted. Working with very experienced laser dr and she's confident fraxel will help it go from slightly raised to flat.

But cortisone and vbeam did make a difference.

My plan is to either go on some epic beard hair grafting mission or tattoo it and just live with it. I realize neither may work but I hope this helps.

  6. Please don't do this. I had prp with Dr Niedbalski along with 1600 grafts. I had permanent shockloss of existing grafts in areas he didn't even graft. All the areas he injected prp caused massive shockloss that never grew back a year later. PRP and Niedbalski destroyed my 2 perfectly good hair transplants.

This stuff doesnt cure baldness. Its complete BS. Just another way for HT surgeon to sound smart and charge more money. Ashamed I fell for it. Dont be next.

  7. I have had a HT in the temple, top and crown area of total 1684 grafts.

I had approx same desity as you have, and experienced shock-loss. I guess - 10-20% less dense now than before the HT.

Its is 4.5 months since the procedure, and I have no growth yet. I think its late, but most people say 2-6 months is normal. My TP-hairs fell out very late, so I should be in the restingphase still..

Normaly the majority of the shock lost-hairs will grow back, according to most doctors and poster on this forum, so I dont think it is any reason to go bold before you take some action.

Did your shock loss grow back? In same situation.

  8. Just got to give it 6 months. Sucks I know. I shed worse than I ever did for 3 months with shockloss.

At 5 6 months I had grown a lot of hair back. Not all of it but 70 percent or so. Get off thesee boards people here are fanatical and don't know anything. If they've had great transplants they think they know everything and if they've been botched they assume the worst for everyone. Shut it down for at least 5 months and see where you are at like I said I did verything wrong and got back to 70 percent my. Friends say 80 so I'm sure you'll be fine.

  9. I had prp treatment at the same time as 1000 grafts to the top. I had massive shockloss of exisitng grafts. Now it could have been caused by the grafting but not likely considering I basically went bald from shockloss. I am 9 months out and about 70% recovered. So basically I ended up 30% worse. Interestingly when I went in for my 3 week check up and was bald my crap Dr immediately said must have been the prp. Almost like he didnt mean to say it. He later showed me another patient who had grafts and prp who had bad shock loss. I found out from talking to twits at his office that several other patients had shock loss from prp. All regrew their hair supposedly but agin I am am 30% in the hole and none of grafts grew. I feel like a dipshit for falling for the prp nonsense. Word of warning.

  10. Sudhir, Hang in there I feel for you believe me. I had 1000 grafts on top 9 months ago. 2 weeks after surgery I lost EVERY SINGLE HAIR on my head. Was basically bald. Its a horrible thing to have happen. So I know what you are going through. The hair I lost was almost all previously grafted hair. I dont want to scare you because I am sure all your hair will grow back. My hair started to regrow at 4 months. Started not all the way back. I am at 9 months and am probably 70% back to where I was before the surgery which is obviously a huge blow. I will say when this happened I did a TON of research and everyone I talked to got all their hair back and then some. That was not the case for me unfortunately. Keep in mind I went to bad doctor, didnt shave my recipient area and had prp shot so if I made it to 70% back I am sure you will get a ll the way back. Again everyone else i spoke to ended up fine. So hang in there.

    Thanks.

Kind of funny these sites. I got butchered by hair transplant industry. Have no choice to buy a wig and looking here for answers. This guys intercepting these posts on some high moral ground. Meanwhile these sites are paid for by HT surgeons who can potentially ruin your life and force you to wear a hair piece. Too ironic not to mentio. It. Wow.

  13. After 2 failed HT there is no other option but getting tattoos into 2 old strip scars. I've met with Dr. Feller and Dr. Dorin within the past couple of years they said not sure they can improve my 2 old scars. I have thought about getting Fue into the scars but the Fue would just create more scars I'm done getting scars on my fricken head.

The place I'm going to get the micropigmentation tattooing is in the NYC area by a well known tattooing expert it will supposedly look like stubble hairs. The name of the place is Whitney Center for Permanent Cosmetics the tattooing is done by Melany Whitney who has appeared on Dr. Oz show.

If all goes well I will be buzzing my hair down with a 1 guard the way I used to do it. If she does a really good job on my scars I might even have her do the rest of my head to cover my bolding spots so it looks like a crew cut and be done with it. Let you guys know how it looks and post pics.

How did it go with tatoo? I'm in same crappy situation.

  14. Hey guys,

I had my donor scar excised and revised by a reputable surgeon.

He used staples to close the wound and will remove them on the 10th day.

I asked him about working out post-op and he said he is not to strict on it as long as I wait about two weeks after surgery, and just to refrain from heavy lifting.

I just wanted to get some thoughts from you guys if you have any recommendations or suggestions. I love working out and its very important to me.

Hey how did your revsion work out. Did it make scar less wide? I've got 1 that 5 to 8mm. Considering revision.

  15. Your a whiny baby. I saw your pics you have a full head of hair. Be grateful and grow up.

    RC West,

Kind words mate, the result and my final appraisal of Feller Medical will put all these doubts to bed.

I'm humbled by the interest no matter where you stand on the result but let's not discuss it here please.

For those who have sent me private messages, I can not reply to them for some reason. Will try and get it squared away with the moderators.
