I had a procedure from Dr. Sword 9 months ago and am very pleased. I submitted a report with pics, but it is time for more pics now. I'll get to it as soon as I can. I had 2000 fue, and no pain whatsoever until later at night from the scar. I took the valium he gave me and promptly passed out. I can recommend him as a Doctor that knows what he's doing.

Here are some pics 2 weeks after I had 2000 FU by Dr. Sword in Southern California. So far I am happy. The procedure itself was almost completely painfree and certainly professional.
Well it's been 9 months, and I couldn't be happier. I will likely have the next procedure done in Thailand. I had a consultation with an HT Doc in Bangkok, and I was very impressed. The cost is about 25% of what it is here in the US.

I had my second procedure done there on Dec 10 2004, and I think he does a very good job. I had a 1200 grafts 9 years ago,and that was fine too considering the technology back then. Everything has healed quickly and well, and the actual day of the procedure was ok as well. I felt he could take a little more time with patients, and be a little more informative. I got the feeling he wanted to get started while I still had questions. Still It wasn't that big a deal, you just have to be a little assertive. I'll have results in a few months.

Yes, I love that feeling. I can't keep my hands out of my hair. I hope that doesn't make my head fall off.

He told me that the ones that I started out with would fall out, and they did. That happened in the first few weeks. Are you saying that these new ones will also fall out?

My crown feels like a 5 o'clock shadow. I had 2000 grafts done on Dec 10th, and for some reason I thought it was going to take longer for hair to start growing.

or do a certain percentage go dormant. If so, what percentage are likely to work out?

Sure. Here they are. Nothing exciting to see, but I can feel lots of new growth.

I certainly will. I wish I had started taking pics from the beginning.

Well the waiting game begins. Pics are on previous post. This my 3rd HT. The first was by Bosley around 1991. It didn't do much. Only a few hundred grafts. The second was By Dr. Sword in So. California. It seemed OK, but I was hoping for more results. I hope this one is better. He tells me he thinks I may only have 1500 FUs left. I'm not sure it's going to be enough to get me where I want to be. My hair is fairly fine, but at least the density is pretty good.

I too have had good luck with Minoxidil. I can't believe anyone would berate it after hearing all the evidence and personal experiences with it.
I don't find it particularly messy either. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I simply spray a little where I want it and rub it into my scalp. What is so messy about that?
-
Yes, I was happy with him, although after reading some of the posts on this forum, I wonder if I might have gotten better results elsewhere. I certainly have no complaints about my procedure though.
I'm afraid I do not have any pics. I'll take some when the hair grows in. Right now there is nothing to see.

Sorry. I edited my post to make it less confusing. I had a session with him 9 years ago and another one 6 weeks ago. Also I was in Thailand twice. The first time in November, and again at end of December.

I found this site a few weeks ago. I wish I'd found it before I had my transplant, but live and learn. I was in Thailand (during the tsunami, but no problem) and I had a consultation at Bumrungrad Hospital with a D.Pathomvanich MD. He sounded pretty professional. He does FU, and the price was $2400 for 2000 grafts. When I got back to U.S. I checked prices with Dr. Sword here in California, and to make a long story short, he had a cancellation one day and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. There are mixed reviews about him on this forum, but I have to say I had a good experience. I had a session with him 9 years ago and was pretty happy, except I had hoped for more hair. It's been 6 weeks since my recent procedure, so I'm in the waiting stage right now and wanted to share my experience after all the great help I've gotten here. I may have my next procedure done in Bangkok next year.

Yes, I made a mistake about the "extraction". I simply meant FU's.
I'm certainly not trying to convince anyone to go to him, I just wanted to state for the record that I had a good experience, and am getting numerous comments from friends and family about all my hair.
I will certainly add pictures as soon as my daughter gets back from summer vacation. She is my HT photographer
