  1. Dr Radha recommended having a minimum of 2500 grafts , FUT ofcourse.. Cost would come to 50 per graft...

  2. Hi,

Among the Trichologist / Plastic surgeons in Cochin, I am aware of only one good surgeon, that is Dr Hari Menon of the Lakeshore Hospitals. Regarding his skill, I have a friend n colleague who got his HT done from him about 1 month back. He was I think a Norwood 3, he grafted about 2000 follicles. Till now the results are great. But the problem is that, he has only done areas where the hairs are completely lost. He left behind all those regions where its very much likely to go bald soon..!! After consulting with Dr Radha , she informed me that she will be replacing all the thinned area where the follicles are unlikely to regrow, giving a more satisfying result. Dr Madhu is also good Im sure. But for me Dr Radha is more affordable. Thats why I went with her. And you have to consider one important thing... Both Dr Radha and Dr Madhu have got way much experiance in this field than Dr Hari, as the latter is a practising Plastic / Cosmetic surgeon , not a hair transplantation specialist like the former two. So I decided on going with Dr Radha and Im hoping I made the right choice..! :)

Ohh n regarding me, Iam a Doctor, working here in Thrissur.. Please dont hold back your queries, Iam very much happy to help you. I finally got to take this decision after a lot of counsels from many friends who I have met here, who were generous to offer me their suggestions...!

soo best of luck buddy :)

  3. Hi buddy,

Well regarding the use of minoxidil, its effectiveness actually varies from person to person n also depends on the location of the lost hair. It is more effective on the parietal or commonly called the crown area of the scalp. Getting into its side effects , minoxidil certainly have some noteworthy problems, but only on taking it orally. As we are using a local application the side effects are very much minimal, except for a rare allergic reaction. Even if this is the case I certainly recommend using minoxidil in your case, as the advantages clearly surpass the disadvantage. In some percentage of people it has shown to properly arrest hair fall n thicken the existing hair , even in the frontal n temporal areas (temples).. So I suggest you start using it..

Regarding HT , after quite a bit of tedious research, I ve booked a slot with Dr Radha, Vizag for a session of HT for about 2500 grafts.. She s told to be the pioneer in this field in India !! It is scheduled to be in august.. In your case, from ur photos youve uploaded, I m not sure if immediately going for an HT is the right thing to do. First try out all the FDA approved non surgical methods like minoxidil, if it doesnt work even after say 1 or 2 years , then u better go for an HT. In my case, minoxidil has certainly played a part in reducing the rate of hair fall, as it was in a drastic pace before. But I have already lost considerable amount of hair before starting on minoxidil.

So always keep this in mind, dont rush into things. Do a lot of research before doing anythng n stay healthy ... Best of luck buddy !! ;)
