  1. Anyone heard or tried the new hair club method called xstands? adds hair to existing hair strands to add fulness. Seems like a good idea if you have crown thining but with any of these claims i am skeptical..... anyone have any comments or experience?

  2. i have had some smp after 5 transplants, and to Nicoles point yes you have to have some or alot of hair for it to be effective . if your frontal or crown has some density the smp will colour the scalp, hence not giving you more hair, but taking away seeing the whiteness of the scalp. i think its a great solution when basically you dont have many other choices

  3. prothik is a terrible company to deal with.....they just redid their bottles and it clogs and stops every time you use it. it the cans are rendered useless they will not refund any money whatsoever...they will just give the runaround...

used to be quite reliable but now you have no idea if the cans will even work

  4. i think its a fantastic idea i think alot of guys dont like that shaved look, but in my case if you can have the fiveoclock shadow added to it it made a world of difference/ alot of guys have that patchy stubble look and the fact you can fill it in is an important part of the "shaved" look

i dont think anyone would even think of it but even guys in the their forties can eliminate the grey stubble growing in and knock alot of years off ...

  5. hey matt i read on your website you offer facial stubble SMP as well....i think that is a fantastic idea i think alot of guys would get the smp shaved look on the scalp if they had that perfect stubble look and not patchy. i have had it done in a small area and i think its something alot of guys might want to hear about to compliment the scalp smp

  6. ive seen alot of sparse areas get the SMP by themselves and looked fine......if you are going to keep the hair longer as in your pics no sense of getting the whole thing done ( especially since they would charge over 3 grand i assume )

it might not be perfect but it will colour the scalp under the scalp and thats really the effect your trying to achieve......

  7. as for people realizing its a hair transplant, i wouldn't worry. unless its from 1979 when they were and the stages of infancy..

the only others that will notice i think would be others that have had the surgery. you'd be suprised the people who haven had it how little they know about the whole process, they still are under the impression a transplant are the plugs from long ago...

so anything that looks pretty good would go unnoticed

  8. asking for a few opinions on this one...

have had 4 surgeries, opting for one more for the crown( down to the last one for harvesting )

i went to one consultation ( with a sales rep, not the doctor ), he recommended FUE as he said another strip wouldnt yeild that many grafts

another doctor i went to said 1000 from a strip would be no problem, and why would i have gotten FUE with a strip scar already, shaving the head would be a long recovery ( which makes more sense to me )

as the price for FUE is double, in your expert opinions which option would you take????

is sales man being told to push FUE as its a much higher price??

    thanks in advance guys

  9. it makes longer hair look fuller....from looking in the mirror you wont see as much lighter scalp. It definately works, its not a miracle but you WILL notice a difference...

we should remember that SMP is in its infancy, so temporary would be the best way to go, but can be pricey getting it redone every year....but nonetheless a safe option...

remember when transplants first came out and what disasters came of those?????

  10. As stated a few posts back the results i think depend on mainly your scar....most clinics i think can tattoo dots fairly well ...Good look inc charges like 4000 for a one day session, so the bigger companies are overcharging ......in most cities these smaller smp clinics are starting to pop up, as its a great ( i wouldnt say solution, more so help ) to the issue of scarring..

you have to google and research the ones in your area, keep in mind the actual procedure is very simple so its not like only a few places can perform this ...

  11. finasteride yes can cause decreased libido in some.....not so much in others and the degrees vary....i personally was on for a good five years, didnt like the effects and have been off for three.....it does take some time i found for your body to get back to normal but ive never felt better....Fin was a bad drug for me, felt crummy most of the time ......but youll have to try it out and see for yourself...

some are lucky and some arent........just like losing our hair in the first place

  12. What about getting SMP done, and down the road vying for another transplant in the tattoed area...

does it make a difference to transplant in an area that already has SMP????

Yes i know its better to get the transplants first but for arguments sake.....

  13. heres the question i have for you all.....

i have a fairly large scar in the back i would like to get covered by SMP, preferrably permanent..

would this pose a problem if another strip procedure was performed down the road??? im wondering if the new scar would ruin the previous work, and to just wait for SMP until its all done ( or opt for FUE )

  14. hairthere

i think if you read my previous posts i DO state its not easy and takes practice

fatigue factor is with most jobs,,,,,the balls to tattoo someone is shared with every single tattoo artist in the world marking someone for life...

but balls is being a cop, fireman . miltary, ems,,,,,,,,not tattooing dots for 300 bucks an hour....lets not confuse which professions have the caljones

thats what you chose to do and charge people to do it..youre talking about business related issues..doing a job perfectly and its tiring...never disagreed

..personally i wouldnt want to tattoo heds all day, it would be very tiring

and sure everyone cant do it, but again, no brainer....some can play guitar and are self taught at age 9 , some guys with formal training and dont have an inch of talent....cant find the rythym or beat, or whatever....

    anyways, to each his own
