  1. Hi,

toupees are usually wigs for men, hair replacement are all kinds of wigs both for men and women. lace unit(full lace) give you a more natural looking, and you can wear lace unit with a high ponytail, but price will be higher than lace front. The lace unit can last about 2--5 years with proper care. (promotional content removed by moderator).

2-5 years ya it will if you leave it in the bag it came in . ..... northwest lace are getting great reviews and there systems are under $200

  2. Thanks - yeah I have booked a consultation with Paul Anthony next week - had a chat with him on the phone and seems very positive that he can make a difference to my crown and as he's only a few minutes away from where I live so I'm gonna give him a try.

mikey let us no how you go on if u go ahead you could have the system within 2 weeks :)

  3. Hi Mikeylad,

I am referring to them in general. When I first started using them I had a mesh or lace type base which was very think and a bit noticable. However it did allow the skin to breathe. Over the years as newer thiner systems came about with see-through skin I switched over and found after a while that these do not really allow breathing. If you think about it, you have bond on your scalp for starters (which must restrict breathing, regardless of what the experts say) and then a base stuck tightly on. This system ended up causing smelling and scalp itching. Especially when sweating.

Ive now got lace in the middle and skin on the outer edges. I also done use any glue and instead have a very light see through tape around the edges. Whilst this means i have to go to the salon every week or so (or attempt to stick at home when it starts to lift) it is finally allowing the skin to breathe again and recover.

Assuming you are using the lace/breathable unit then you should be fine.

I use IHS in London and its costing me a fortune so I'd be interested in how you get on as total care seems much more cheaper.

bladylocks what are IHS charging for there systems

  4. Hey Mark - have you ever come across a lady based in the Sale area called Lynda? she apparently is an affiliated stylist for Hair4All but also does other systems. Wondered whether you have heard anything about her

  7. Hi Mark - thanks for your response - I assume that you are in the NW area, do you know of any other options? who do you use now?

    hi mikey

i am in the north west (warrington) im using nick rogers hes as a shop in latchford nr warrington hes very goodand knows his stuff he chages ?45 for a cut in were total cover plus are charging about 85.00..

  8. Have any of you been to Paul Anthony in Manchester for Total Cover Plus hair system? Any reviews would be greatly appreciated as I am thinking of booking a consultation there.

I have been suffering hairloss in the crown area for the last several year - mainly been thinning that I have been able to disguise with careful cuts/styles and more latterly topikk. In the last year I had a shorter haircut and ever since my thinning patch has become harder and harder to disguise and seems to be getting worse.

I have tried propecia (which gave me awful side effects), minoxidil, herbal remedies, laser comb treatment and topikk. I am currently on a regime of minoxidil twice a day, laser comb 3 times a week, 2 herbal supplements a day and topikk before leaving the house. I am wondering why I am bothering as none of the treatments seem to work for me.

The front of my hair is still thick and i have little recession to the hair line - all of my thinning is crown based and I am hoping that it might be possible to have a crown based Total Cover Plus system - the company have told me that it is possible. So I would be interested in hearing any other experiences people have of using Paul Anthony Hairdressing for this system

    hi there

i went to paul anthony in manchester , hes a really nice guy but cocked up on the system colour he coloured my own hair to try and match it with the sysyem which is a big no no . but if you go get him to do a custom system and send a sample of your own hair away and you be fine , the systems them selfs are good

  9. ive used total cover plus . the hair was very nice the base very thin but its never ripped and im rough they say u get 3 to 7 weeks well mines 10 weeks old but overall the system was fine but the the place i went to messed it up instead of matching my own hair to the system he picked a colour and try to match it well it was way out he then had to colour my own hair to match it to the system it never happened as my own hair is darker i lost faith in him , hes not been doing systems long and it shown , oh the density was far to much. but with the right colour cut density i would think they are very good

cheers hairguy . i may drop them a line

Relacement may not suit everyone but then, it would not do for us all to be the same or it would
