  1. OH absolutely get a new doc. A good doctor should have been able to do wonders with 1400 and your hair type. Don't lower the hairline, not worth it and you will never be able to keep up

Yeah, everyone I've chatted to about this says keep the hairline. But I've received mixed feelings about the grafts. Some say it's good coverage, while a few others say that for 1400 it's not that good. I'm conflicted. The guy is so cheap compared to others that it's hard to decide.

  2. Hello there, welcome to the forums. This site helped me also, in my time of questions and need.

As for how many grafts you'll need, I think between 1500-2000 grafts. 2000 might be on the high side though. You should get on propecia immediately! It'll help stabilize your hair loss. You final hair loss will depend on genetics. How bald are the other men in your family?

A week off from work is more than enough. I took about 4 days off and wore hats after that, but not too tightly. Also as far as people noticing, they won't.

The hair will grow in naturally and people will just assume that you're growing your hair out. I was MUCH worse than you and no one has noticed. They all say "You're wearing your hair longer, it looks good".

    Hope I was helpful.

  3. There's certainly an improvement. 1400 in that area doesn't seem a lot, caveat that with it's difficult from a few pics and you have good hair characteristics but it seems to have made a nice cosmetic difference. Some concealers would do wonders for you I reckon.

How's the scar, you happy with it?

The scar is really well actually. Thats the one thing that I am completely satisfied with. I can wear my hair very short and it doesn't show.

I agee. That coverage and density is about right for 1400 grafts. You needed more like 2500.

I'm going to get 2000 grafts on my second one. That way I can fill it in and lower my hairline a bit. Think that will be enough?

  4. Hello all,

I got 1400+ grafts a little over 10 months ago. I want to get another one done, but I'm unsure if I should go with the same doctor. Looking at my pics, did the doctor do a good job? His prices were too low to resist, but I feel that another doctor would've gotten more coverage with the same amount of grafts.

Your opinions are very much appreciated.

    Thanks!

  5. Hello Everyone,

I've been reading a lot of the posts and have only posted in the past asking questions. But I finally went through with it. I got 1500 FUT grafts with Dr. Ron Chao. He was AMAZING!! Firstly, the price is incredible. $2800. Yes, I was very, VERY skeptical at first. I met with another user on here who went to him (JCap) and he absolutely instilled confidence in me.

I was a NW3A and now I'm about a 2. His staff was more than professional. They were kind, smart and so caring. I've never been so comfortable in a medical room ever before in my life. I really can't speak highly enough of him. It' been only 3 days, but so far everything is looking good. If everything turns out well, I'll be sure to go back for another 1500 to lower my hairline (I have a large forhead).

I ended up getting1452 grafts, I asked. So while many may be weary due to the low price, please don't be! He deserves more business. If you're in California, be sure to find Dr. Ron Chao. Feel free to contact me, and hopefully anyone else here who has gone to him. His price can not be beat!

Yes, I know the old "you get what you pay for, but seriously, he'd made me a believer. And the scar is barely visable. I know I'm rambling, but seriously...seriously!!

    I'll be posting pictures!.

Thank you all for your support and thank you JCap for the help!

  6. Hey everyone,

I've been considering hair restoration surgery for a while and have been frequenting the boards and reading a lot of posts. I've near decided to go with Dr. Ron Chao. His prices are incredibly cheap and a few posters here have recommended him.

My big question is FUT or FUE. I'm black with light skin and would like to wear my hair short at times. I know that FUT leaves a scar while FUE is "scar less", but how bad is the FUT scar?

For those who have gone with Ron Chao, how bad was the FUT scar? Also are there things to make the scar less noticeable? Vitamin E oil, etc... Does hair grow in the scar?

Thank you all in advance, and this site is amazing! Seriously amazing!!
