  1. I agree, and there is a lot of worse photo's than that of him. It wasnt a good result at all. 2 HT now at the age of 26 ! Probably out of donor now aswell, if he starts to dip at the back and progress to a nw7, he is going to look very odd.

Agreed,he is going to run out of donor eventually.I think he did make a mistake going for a transplant so early. Concealers are making his 1st transplant look way better than the reality

  2. Ya,its just my view that if u see how badly balding he was ,he went from that to an extremely dense full thick head of hair like a teenager.

Even jotronic did not get a transformation like that.

Most experts here will tell us to have "realistic expectations" from a transplant surgery.

If he got that from a transplant he must have had a massive number of grafts.

Again, just my view i may well be wrong

Why would you say he is wearing a wig? To me it an amazing transplant but that is my opinion.
  3. Ya,true FUE was a good idea for him.

I guess if he was older id be more impressed with the result.

He will continue to thin and probably reach NW7 eventually and have to shave it off.

Antonio Conte is imo wearing a rug.

    Looks great though:)

he was already looking super bald at 25,so I don't think he had any reason not to do the ht.

his ht result is great imo,he was using concealers to enhance the result and in some pictures he is not using them so looks thinner, but major improvement to what he looked before the ht.let's not forget what he looked before the ht:

+ he had FUE procedure with very little scarring and can do a buzz cut in future if needed & of course he can do a few more FUE sessions.

  4. Im a big United supporter and so,have been watching his hair closely over the past few months.

It is definitly thinning more in the crown area and he seems to be using a lot of concealers and a combover now.

IMO,he made a big mistake getting this done unless he has an outstanding donor supply.

He is 26 now, imagine how much more hair he will lose by 56?

  5. Hi mate,

I have not had any procedures yet luckily(or unluckily).

Just having read and seen some mw6 guys who got megasessions ,and had very poor results imo from reputable clinics.

U wont hear those stories here and this forum seems a bit more positive so i thought id get a better explanation than "all Ht surgeons are crooks"

    Thanks for your answer

    Prevet,

How long ago did you have your procedure and how many grafts did you have and where were they implanted? Got any before and after pics for us to compare?

There is no way of predicitng shockloss and how patients respond differently. But you are correct in that all of the top docs get a patient every now and then who do not respond favorably in the areas of shockloss, regrowth, and especially the differences in phisiological makeup which can also affect the healing process including scar formation.

  6. Hi guys,how are things?

    Just a quick question.

Why is it that certain patients, even those who get strip done by a top doctor like H&W,feller etc still get low yield of transplanted hair.

I dont think there is any doctor whom i have not read a complaint about regarding this.

Is it that in these patients the donor zone is not immune from balding or has it got to do with not recovering from shock loss.

Any way of predicting if it would happen?

  7. According to Dr. Rassman and Baldingblog.com, only around 5-7 percent of men with hairloss will reach the NW7 pattern. It is really rare, from what I've seen in public. NW6 is usually the max most men reach.

    Cheers.

Its good to hear that.im in my early stages of hairloss now,so we'll see.If i end up a NW6 ill probably take the risk of transplantation if i have a good donor area.

    Thanks

  8. Thanks for your help guys.

Ya,i guess the horseshoe look might not be ideal but maybe i should take the risk if thats the worst case scenario.

Thing is,i dont even know if i have MPB.

I took the acne drug accutane and a prominent Dermatologist in the uk(Chu) think post accutane hair loss is diffuse alopecia areata.I also have pubic loss and leg hair loss.

    And i have scalp psoriasis.

Alopecia areata is a difficult diagnosis and even scalp biopsies dont help much in diagnosis.

Maybe ill let the pattern continue and see if its MPB.It looks likely it is though as the loss on the head is mainly from the top i feel.

    Thanks for the detailed reply

  9. And if it were a strip procedure, obviously u couldnt shave it down.:o

Do a lot of guys get to norwood 7 eventually?

I have an uncle balding in a norwood 6 pattern(on fathers side),1 grand uncle on that side norwood 6,grand aunt on that side who went bald,2 grand uncles on mother side norwood 6s.

These are the only members of my immediate family who went bald

  10. Hi guys,

Say if one were to get a hair transplant and subsequently their sides drop to norwood 7,the transplanted hair looks odd, right?

Would it be possible to just shave the top of your head and shave the back and sides to blade 5/6(with dermamatch for the scar if needed) and have the horseshoe look?

Or are there scars left where the transplanted hair is?

    Thanks

  11. Hi guys,

I believe i am headed for a similar level of hair loss as drew35 has/had.

i was wondering if ye thought his end result was good given the huge number of gafts he had?

Unfortunately we dont have any pictures of his hair grown out long like it is pre 2nd transplant with Dr wong?

Iv read some people here say it was good but others on hairlosshelp said it does not look good at all.(though most people there have serious l issues stemming greater than baldness)

I believe he had great donor area,so what do u think?

    Was his yield poor?

I should say i am in no way trying to offend drew but i am saving for a transplant already and was wondering if ye felt the time, money, travel, effort etc is really worth it for a norwood 6/7 even with a great donor area?

    Thanks

  12. Hi guys,

I saw a hair transplant surgeon last week and he told me i have "good donor hair",as is curly he thinks i could get more coverage if i went totally bald.

May i ask,if my loss progresses can this hair get less and less verr time seeing as how some people have great donor hair and others have very poor donor hair?

Im considdering letting myself be a nw6 at 25 and only then proceeding with a transplant as running out of donor seems like a big risk to take and im not a fan of oral meds.

Id probably use a hair piece to get through m early twenties.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

  13. Cheers.

Im just a bit concerned that if i start propecia it will lose effectiveness after a couple of years and ill be back at stage 1.

Maybe if i let all my hair fall out naturally, hope i have a great donor supply then start propecia after a transplant.

Jason gardiner from strictly seemed to have a huge improvement and he must have been near a nw5.

I definitely wont be getting a transplant until i have lost a lot of hair and know my pattern or unless propecia stops the hair loss but that latter may be a bit risky as propecias effects wear off over time.

    I appreciate all your input

    Sound

Yes, you can get a transplant before getting to the Norwood 6 stage, however, with out preventive medication there is a good chance you may lose some of that hair, or look rather odd if you don't plan carefully with your doctor..you are too young to have a HT...especially if you think you are headed to a Norwood 6 or 7..Again, I would highly recommend getting on proscar and rogaine and then reevaluating your situation in 5 or 10 years...

  14. Hi Prevet,

Stay away from Irish clinics. They are over priced and imo, not on par with the leading surgeons recommended on this site.

Also, 1 mg Propecia is not sold in Ireland but 5mg Proscar is. Its the same drug, just need to cut into quarters. Ask your GP about it.

    Thanks.

    Are u irish yourself?

Can anyone tell me whether i have a good donor area if i post pics or should i just see a top transplant surgeon?

I have no intention of getting a transplant at the minute but may do so in the next 10 years.

Iv read that if u run out of donor hair u are screwed cos the transplanted hair looks unnatural when your real hair falls out.

And,you cant shave your head cos u have a massive scar on the back of your head.

So many irish men are bald, though that if i was over 35 id just shave it off anyway

  15. Thanks for ur help.

May i also ask if someone gets bad side effects from propecia and cant take it anymore,

could they still get a transplant before getting to nw6 stage?

Also, can u guys tell me how this guys results turned out so well?

He had very severe hair loss(see at 1.00) and now much better.

    Are all transplaants this good?

    Thanks

  16. Hi guys,

    How are u all doing?

    Im new here.

19 years old and my hair is definitely thinning, though im hiding it well at the minute and most people wouldnt know.

    May i ask,

If someone is destined for a nw6,due to beginning to lose hair so early,is there any point in getting a HT before u get to the end stages of baldness?Im asking as i think if i got a HT in 5 years time then more hair would just fall out and i would be using up donor hair.

I have dark fairly curly hair if that would make much of a difference to the number of grafts id need.

    Thanks
