Congratulations. The work looks excellent.
Thanks Pete! Can't wait to see the results from the second!

Indeed, looking at your Pre- photos, it does not seem you were a strong candidate, but your result looks quite good. Was there a boost from meds?
Hey KO, thanks, I was amazed as well. I can't wait to see what this second transplant yields!
I think the meds are working fine, but I think the majority of the result is from the transplant itself. I've been on Rogaine and Fin. since my first transplant, no issues, so I'm sticking with it for now.

Good post, Jason. Always glad to hear from people who are pleased with their choice and the results. Often times they disappear from the forum and move on with a new and improved life (good for them!), so it is good to see someone like you giving back with your story.
Thanks hadenough2014! I was absent for quite some time, but I still lurked around to see what was new. I'm going to try and make a few more posts here and there now that I have more time. I just finished my last class for my Bachelor's less than a week ago!

Jason,
Congratulations! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Future_HT_Doc!
Kind of off topic but... how goes the HT doc route? Are you still pursuing it? If so, how long until you are, well, a doc?
-
Excellent post! It was very positive and encouraging, so thanks for that. A good attitude goes a long way.
Great to see you had such great success with the first transplant - and I look forward to seeing the results from this second one. Happy holidays, indeed!
Thanks pkipling! I appreciate it!!

I joined this forum in 2011. I realized I wanted to do something with my hair and almost considered Bosley. Thank goodness for this site and the research I did!
Anyway, I posted my story and pics just to get some thoughts from some of the members here. Several folks had told me to 'lose weight' (which is kind of ironic, because I'm 6 ft 2 and 200 lb.... not THAT big!), get a tan, etc.
That really didn't bother me as much. I was upset that most seemed to say I wasn't a candidate from the looks of my photos, how it wouldn't be worth it, etc.
Regardless, I went to surgeon (True and Dorin, to be specific) and he told me that I certainly was a candidate. So in Nov 2011, I had my first procedure. I was EXTREMELY pleased with the results. I had my second on Nov 25th of this year. I had 2480 grafts for my first procedure and 2057 for the second.
You can view my photos and story on my profile if you want to check it out.
Anyway, the point of this thread, is don't let others get you down whether it's online or face to face. If you are that concerned about your hair, see a doctor and get their inputs. I've seen some absolutely amazing results from guys that I would have thought had no hope of restoration, but I was wrong!
If for some reason, you are not a candidate, don't let that get you down either. I had told myself if I wasn't going to be a candidate, that would be that, and I would just shave my head. Losing your hair doesn't mean you have to lose who you are. Remember that!
Merry early Christmas to all and be safe this season.

Thanks David! I appreciate the kind words. I can't wait to see what the second procedure yields.

On November 25th 2014, the day before Thanksgiving, I took my second plunge, and had my second hair transplant with Dr. True and Dr. Dorin (Dr. Dorin, to be specific) in New York City!
As with the first procedure, I was extremely pleased by the professionalism and the work Dr. Dorin and his staff perform. I have nothing but kudos to give to these folks.
Here's the breakdown of the second HT.
2057 Grafts (FUT)
479 singles
1451 doubles
127 triples
I've attached just one picture directly from the True and Dorin site. You can tell with just under 2500 grafts, the results were quite impressive. (The before picture is from Nov 25, 2011. The second photo is approximately 13 months later)
I decided to go with a second procedure just because I was extremely pleased with the first and I wanted to achieve more density.
I do have a lot of photo albums from my immediately before my first procedure back in November 2011, up to now, my second procedure. Please do check out my profile on this site and let me know your thoughts!
Rest assured, as the second one starts to progress, I'll be updating this site!
Also, here is a video testimonial on YouTube:
If anyone is contemplating T&D, I would say go for it! Feel free to message me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

Just wanted to give a shout out to Dr. True and Dorin and his expert staff. I am immensely satisfied with my results!
Also, a thank you to this site, as it is full of great information and of course, great people. I was able to do much research and comparisons and came to the conclusion that True and Dorin was the place for me to 'take the plunge'.
If anyone has any comments or questions, fire away. Cheers!

Staggerlee, I don't think you've asked before, and if you have, I must have CRS as well! It's a Testarossa.
Neoname, I'll do that right now.

Thanks for the comments! I have been on propecia and rogaine since Nov 2011.
If you view my profile, I created several photo albums. They contain photos from pre-op, to immediate post op, and the most recent as of Jan 7 2013. The most recent one contains the scar, or should I say the lack there of. I am very happy with the results. Feel free to check out my albums under my profile.

I had my first HT Nov 29, 2011, a total of 2480 grafts, with True and Dorin. I went for a follow up on Jan 7 2013.
I've included two pictures from Nov 2011 and two pictures from Jan 2013 in this post.
I was informed everything healed well and I'm ready for round two! Thinking of getting another 2000 grafts to fill in the blanks!
I have more photos in my photo album so feel free to take a look. I created albums to show pre-op, post op, 1 month later, 2 months later, 4 months later, then the most recent ones, 13 months (and some change) later.
I'm very happy with the work of True and Dorin! They professionalism and work goes above and beyond!
Comments welcome and encouraged.

Thanks for the replies folks! I'll be sure to post updates.
And thanks for pointing out the name thing, didn't realize it. Have a good one!

MIKIEB,
Hey man, I'm sorry I missed your post, I need to sign in here more often! How did your transplant go? I trust it went well! I just went in today for my 4 month post op check up and everything is looking super! They took some pics and I posted them in my profile. Feel free to take a look and let me know what you think! Cheers!

So I went to True and Dorin today, and they were AMAZED how fast everything was growing in. I'm still early in the game though, and they said I can expect more density, but man, so far so good! I've posted a few of the pics that they took today of the front and back, but if you check my profile you can check my albums and see some more from today and over the past 4 months. Let me know what you guys think!

Looking good!!!
Thanks!

Hello. Looking right on track. I'm 4.5 months post op & I need to start using hair wax now!
So I can imagine your excitement as well! Happy growing!
Thanks Dutch! Now I just gotta wait. BTW, Love the profile pic. Great movie! Second one? Meh...
-
It does look like you already have more on top than before you started. A promising beginning.
Thanks Matt! I'm happy so far, can't wait to see what the near future brings!
-
I think the most exciting thing so far is the fact that my hair on top now is actually LONGER than it has ever been. I can actually comb it back and style it now! That being said, it's still very thin and the new hairs are still waiting to sprout. I think it's the Rogaine and Propecia that have helped the growth thus far.
Anyway, here are a few pics to show you what I mean. Take a look at my profile and my photo albums and you can (hopefully) see the difference!
Let me know what you guys think!

Hey Mike, how are you? Welcome to the site! After consulting with the doctor (or doctors) they will tell you your best option (FUE, FUT, etc). You're best bet is talking to several of the docs, preferably from this site, and see what options you receive. Don't rush into anything as it is your head on the line!
I went with Dr. Dorin in NYC. The initial consult was painless and all online. I sent pics via e-mail, and then did a phone consult. You can even do a SKYPE consult if you so choose. After the procedure, I was extremely pleased with their work and I highly recommend them.
Best of luck to you! Keep us posted!

Hi Amthello, welcome to the site! I'm new as well. I just had my first transplant on Nov 29, 2011. Feel free to view my profile to see my before and immediate post op photos. You're head won't be glamorous right afterwards but in the long run, with a successful surgery, it will be well worth it.
I believe everybody has the same feelings. If you weren't nervous I would think something might be wrong with you! This site has a ton of great information. In fact, it's how I found my doc, Dr. Dorin in NYC. Top Notch and highly praised! That settled my nerves somewhat but I was still apprehensive about someone poking holes in my head.
Either way, best of luck to you and please keep us posted on your story! Cheers.

It looks like some have fallen out but some are still lingering around. The pinkness is pretty much gone too, I'm happy about that. Now I just gotta stop looking in the mirror everyday waiting to see new hair.

Oh, and for those that are curious to see my journey so far, I have pre-op, immediate post op, and these pics here in my albums under my profile. Best of luck to all! I love this site!! 8)
