  1. I went in for HT#2, after 3 years of doing HT#1. I got a very good result from HT#1.

Hoping for great result from the HT#2. and praying that nothing goes wrong in recovery and growing phase.

  2. thankyou for the feedback. I did not see so much shock loss with my first HT. with the second one Its alot.

i consulted the doctor and He said that due to the second HT and the scalp being streched tight this might be expected. how ever I havent sent him recent pictures yet. 2 to 3 weeks ago half of it was still available in the past 2 - 3 weeks i lost pretty much all of it.

on positivie side , I see lot of tiny bumps looks, I am hoping they are the new hairs ready to break out but I am crossing my fingers.

  3. some of it could be shock loss on your back and its highly unnoticeable for untrained eye. ;-)

you should look at my pictures for schock loss, even my daughter can find all the ugly patches.

regarding 1 month scabs, its normal and everything will come back. you seem to be recovering pretty well and even your 1 month mark is looking good from my perspective.

  4. it may take 3 to 5 months until you lose all the numbness on your head. dont worry you will be fine.

He seems to be proven surgeon with lot of good cases. you did the first step right. second step is completely in your hands.

very important thing is to take good care and dont bump into anything.

most importantly take medication regularly and keep applying minoxidil 2 times a day.

since you said you are from chennai, make sure to keep your self to not sweat too much and attract lot of dust etc.. even if you do take shower immediately. if needed 2 times or more in a day if you sweat. good thing is that its past summer now. so hopefully you will have good recovery in winter and dont have to worry too much.

    all the best...

after 7 months... you will be spending lot of time infront of the mirror.

  6. proactive69,

congratulations on taking big step. I am sure you will be thrilled with your results.

I am one of the first members on this board who got HT done with dr.yv.rao.

I am very impressed with my results. first 3 to 4 months is very awkward time , after that you will be very happy.

Dont neglect your medication. Keep eating good diet. No smoking. make sure you take head baths as prescribed.

  7. I have not gotten it examined from my surgeon since I live in United states. I got my HT done during my visit on family vacation.

Thanks, yes, its huge improvement for me,so I am not as much concerned right now until I read your post and thought we both were going thru the same thing. I can give a call to my doctors office and find out if this is a normal behavior and update you accordingly.

    Hi htrocks

Thanks for sharing your experience .. I hope your made a visit to your surgeon and had your situation examined... if you did, please share your doctors observation with me..

I don't live in India so its not exactly 1 + 1 = 2 .. when it comes to having my hair examined by my Surgeon for what I am going through at the moment..So maybe your examination with your surgeon can help me in answering some of them questions..

I have followed your progress.. And its really impressive from what it was pre-op and what it is now after almost 7 months. Great stuff man! ..

Just recently.. Yesterday and Today, I have noticed my hair shedding.. well i saw about 5 - 10 strands of hair and today abt the same number of strands.. I know that this is no cause for alarm and its part of the hair cycle.. so I am pretty calm.. (or am i? ... hmmmm )..

Oh I managed to extract the trouble hair strand (the ones that are stuck, not growing and not shedding) from here-forth referred to as "poking hairs" .. I am posting a picture of a sample of the poking hair ..

  8. Spacificdude,

I am into my 7th month of HT done in hyderabad. even i have some good number of unshed hair follices. when I run my fingers through the scalp, I can feel that unshed hairs are poking .

Hopefully all of them shed and I see new hair in their place for more density.

    Hi TakingThePlunge and Bill

I am nearing towards the 6th Month of my HT.. I posted a question on the following thread: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/164724-grafts-not-shedding-needle-like-pain.html a week less than 3 months of my HT ..

And today again I continue to face the same problem and almost 2 weeks away from my 6 months into my 1st HT.. I am getting a good growth and density..But I am pretty content that the grafts which have not shed as of yet .. would have only made my 6 month results more dense than it will be had they shed and started growing.. (not expecting to judge my results at this point in time though)

I did on few occasions use tweezers to extract 2 or 3 of these transplanted hairs.. and when it came out it was without any follicle on the end.. it was just the strand of the hair with an "L" shape.. I am now beginning to worry whether these transplanted hair will ever shed and grow .. It was easy to detect and pinpoint these grafts before the 4th month.. but now with my hair longer.. and thicker than before.. its almost mission impossible to detect them with the naked eye unless ofcourse you have a HT Einstein look at my head of hair using the hubble telescope. However, I can feel these grafts when I run my fingers through my hair ..

I have consulted with Dr. Madhu in this regards and they have advised me to wait 8 months for the hair to shed.. But its quite abnormal that these hairs have not shed.. I know that they are just stuck there.. and thats all they are doing.. stuck there.. I am wondering if the follicles beneath are even producing new hair? If they were, should they not be able to push the transplanted hairs out of the scalp?

Apart from this concern there is nothing more to report on, other than the fact that at certain times in the shower I am now starting to find a couple of strands of hair on hands while shampooing .. which I know is normal.. So I am embracing this with a brave face but with a slight uncertainty regarding my prioritized issue at this point in time..

I think roughly from the feeling of these grafts based on my non-superhuman sense of touch .. there must be at least 20 - 50 grafts behaving this way.. possibly

    So help me guys ..

    cheers..
