I'm totally not concerned about Dr. Feller's skill level either way. He has 100% of my confidence. But if I do not qualify for FUE and have to make a decision to go strip, I wanted to explore some depth. The good thing is, not many people are responding to this thread!

7000! That's amazing. I didn't know that. In the end, for me it'll all depend on whether Dr. Feller considers me a viable candidate or not. I'll be optimistic.

And I'm also wondering what the ceiling is in terms of how many grafts you can get out of FUE, two sessions. Can you get 2,500 or more total? Or do you start running out?

I am scheduled with Dr. Feller for my initial consultation in a couple of weeks. This would be my first, I'm still a virgin. If I qualify, I have intentions of pursuing FUE. I am willing to forfeit one FUT mega session for two FUE. For me, it comes down to the scar. But less cosmetically, I don't buzz, I have length. It's more so the slim possibility of permanent pulling or discomfort.

Over the course of viewing forums for about two years, I did see a couple of remote cases. I know it's few and far between and certainly depends on the doctor. However, I did have an issue with a scar and pulling when I was young. I know it's unrelated to this, but that fear does exist for me. I guess I'm spooked.

Could anyone come forward with a case that supports this? Let's say nine months post op or more. Is anyone living with permanent discomfort?

You can see the band with an electron microscope but you cannot see it when you use a light microscope to dissect it?! Sorry, I lost you. I was talking about removal, not dissection. I'm thinking FUE, not strip, so we haven't gotten the graft out yet. We're not dissecting a strip, we're removing one unit for FUE. So how do you know what and where to cut to remove an individual graft (with multiple follicles) for FUE?

Sorry to get deep, but I'm amazed you can actually see some sort of outline of the graft tissue you need to cut or remove. That being, I wonder why we sometimes don't shed grafts instead of individual hairs, or do we? I'll ask Feller when I go for my initial consult.

Aside from single hair grafts, what joins multiple hairs together into one graft and how does the doctor identify it before removing it? (If this is a naive question, I may be missing something here regarding my understanding of what a graft is; 1 or 2 to 4 hairs naturally grouped together.)
