  1. Congrats Joe!

I am sure I have posted this before, but Joe has provided me with so much information about HT's that I am very grateful. He has taken the time to get to know my case and provide valuable feedback on what my options were. I made a visit to the H&W clinic years ago and hung out with Joe afterward where we discussed HT's even further. He always offered his opinion and he put me at ease that HT's were really a good solution. I ultimately went with Dr. Rahal and Joe was still super supportive which a real HT friend should be. He was really happy I obtained the result I wanted. I am super excited to see what Joe can bring to Dr. Rahal's practice as he was unbelievably successful working with H&W and providing our community with a wealth of knowledge and unbelievable photo documentation of their results.

Good luck Joe and can't wait for your future posts!!!

  2. I would do more research if I was you. Bernstein seems to be very conservative and although respected, I haven't seen any "wow" results from him. People who go to him tend to want a more conservative approach. I remember him being a little more expensive as well. I think there are better options if you want to stay in NY (True and Dorin).

This is not something you jump into...do your RESEARCH...this is key as you don't want to make a mistake now and pay for it later on.

  3. Hey guys...to help out...it is a normal house that you can literally come and go. It has bedrooms like a normal house and a kitchen that you can use as your own with pots/pans, utensils, etc. We ordered out a few nights and the other night we bought some frozen pizzas (easy food that you can just heat up in the stove/microwave) at the grocery a few blocks down (I had a rental car). You can go get your slurpee anytime! ;)

  4. 100% stay there. See my write up about it although I think they changed houses but ultimately it is the same experience I'm sure. It was such a great place to stay as you are with other people whom are experiencing the same thing as you and it really makes you feel better vs. staying in a cold hotel by yourself. We all hung out and bonded together through our experience. It was actually refreshing to finally be open about my hair loss as you are among others who suffer from it as well!

  5. Hey,

I am a Rahal patient and I did soooo much research and ultimately selected him based on results. I wouldn't worry about traveling further or money in that this is your head and your life. Convenience unfortunately never is ideal as I too traveled over 10 hours to get my procedure. It was not easy at all but if you want results you will go to the end of the earth to get them.

With that said, Dr. Rahal is a wonderful choice. I would however meet with both of them in person and see whom you feel most comfortable with. I met Dr. Rahal in person and even had some of his former patients come in so I can check out their results in person which really sold me vs. seeing pictures on a computer so I recommend that approach as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me!

  6. I am a patient of Dr. Rahal and I recommend him 100% hands down! Check out my before and afters. I haven't posted in a while because I have been too busy enjoying life for the first time with my new hair!

I am about 2.5 years out and my hair looks and feels amazing...total game/life changer to say the least. I look and feel 10 years younger!

Private message me if you have any questions as I am happy to help!!!

  7. Dr. Rahal is a wonderful choice...he literally changed my life! My write up and pics say it all! I have to update my pics soon as I am over 1.5 years out. I thankfully did not really have shockloss as everyone is different.

  8. Hey everyone I wanted to share that apparently generic propecia has hit the market. I was refilling my propecia when the pharmacist said that will be $10. I was like what?? It normally comes to like $200! He said that propecia is now generic. I was pretty happy about that but also a little concerned too. Would the generic brand be as effective as propecia even if it is deemed to be the same ingredients (1 mg finesteride)??? I guess it would but I am a little worried to mess with what has worked thus far.

Does anyone have any advice??? Thanks!!!!

  9. Great articles...glad Dr. Rahal is getting the exposure he deserves! It is true when he said if you do your research you will know who he is...which is very true. When I started my HT, all I knew was the typical Bosley commercials until I hit this site. It is amazing how many people think that Bosley is the only HT place to go..scary actually...my little cousin is going bald and he was complaining about it to me and I told him when/if he is ready to do something about it to talk to me before he did anything dumb...he then told me that he had a Bosley consultation...I was like WHAT??!!! I guess it is just engrained in us with all those constant infomercials on late at night that they draw young people in. I told him NO WAY and told him that we can talk if your ready...he has no clue I had a HT! lol.

  10. Hey...it is that time yet again to update everyone!

I am now 9 months out and my hair is great! I have seen it lately really maturing as it is easier to style. To make it easier to style lately, I have been getting a #5 (5/8ths per the clipper attachment) on my whole head. It looks really good at this length as I like it nice and short and thankfully it hides the scar nicely!

I had some requests last time to take some distance pics...so I tried to take some distance pics (basically as far away as I could hold my camera!) so you can see what it looks from a little further way vs. just the close ups.

I still crack up when people tell me I look a lot younger than I am and I always say that it helps out that I still have all of my hair...little do they know the crazy HT journey I was on for the last 9 mths!!! LOL

As always, I am here to answer and/or help out anyone looking to have this life changing procedure! I will be seeing Dr. Rahal in NYC on October 15th...so if anyone wants to perhaps meet after work to talk I am cool with that. I always say that it is best to meet with people face to face to see their HT...pictures are great but there is nothing better than seeing it in person. That is a big factor in my analysis too when I was making my HT decision!

  11. Hey Mickey85:

I feel like the hair is definitely maturing...not sure about new growth...but with the maturation of the hair it looks a lot better and is easier to style. I have a consult with Dr. Rahal when he comes to NY in mid October and I want him to see if he sees any new growth coming in. Either way...every day I am so thankful for having my hair back!

  12. You def can't miss with Strip...FUE is great too but again, Strip's literally 99% guaranteed so i didn't want to take any chances...the scar bothered me before i got it but honestly, i have not thought about it once afterwards...nobody is ever going to recognize the scar and nobody has and my hair has been pretty short since my HT.

  13. Hey Makem32,

I think the density was around 62-65% in the frontal hairline, then it starts to drop down the farther you go back...so figure around like 60% behind that, then in the high 50's after that. The hairline is nice and densly packed which is exactly what i wanted.

    Razzy,

Send me your email via a PM and I will work on getting you a distance shot!

  14. Hey DreamBig,

I'm def not complaining but my hair is very coarse at the hairline (I never thought I would say that! :) But it is just immature at this point...but I have seen it get better as the months go on (at 9 mths now). i haven't used any specific product to tame it really...just keep using my normal gel/glue product.

Rev3-I just responded to your PM!
