  1. Hi,

Its been 10 weeks since i had a ht - i've gone back to what i was like before the ht - when will i see any new hairs grow ? Is it the 3 month mark you get to see new hair or 6 months? any thing i can do to grow back more hair. I am on finpecia been on it since Jan this year and I apply minoxidal 5% twice a day --- Cheers guys thanks for ya support

  2. This may seem a little random but have you noticed that most of the alcoholics and drinkers we see have a full head of hair! I'm starting to think that alcohol must have an effect on DHT or play a role in effecting the hair and that it must lower DHT somehow! What do you guys think?

  3. Hi Guys,

I'm 18 days post HT and every time I press my hands across my head I seem to have 3 or 4 transplanted hairs on my hand is this ok? Also should the hairs that come out have the roots at the end if so does this mean they are damaged transplanted hair? Please help I am worried that I keep touching my head and feeling the hair therefore damaging the transplanted hair

  4. HI Guys,

Just wanted to know if anyone has tried the Scalproller™ Titanium Microneedle Roller they say it enhances any topical treatment regime. Stimulates natural repair pathways to support scar healing and maintain healthy hair growth.

When can you start using it after a HT - could it damage newly implanted grafts? So should one wait a year after a transplant to start using it? Have a look at this link they say it stimulates new growth?

Scalproller : Titanium Microneedle Roller for Thinning Hair

    Cheers

  5. Cheers guys, I was a diffused thinner but covered it well with concealers such as Dermmatch and Toppik and COurve but i'm worried that when I go back to work and eventually when the grafts fall out i will look pretty thin on top, i've heard concealers can damage or hinder grafts and growth, so i'm thinking of keeping my hair short but how short i do not know yet as I may just show the scar off - it looks cool x

  6. Hi Guys,

After how many days after a Hair Transplant is it safe to use a concealer? I'm thinking of using either Nanotick -Topik -Courve or Dermatch. Having had a buzz cut for the the transplant I will look pretty thin on top. I want to know if using any of the above mentioned products will hinder or damage my hair and growth. Is it best to be brave and just not put anything on and look bald until growth appears?

  7. I switched from Propecia to Finpecia which is made by a company in India called Cipla. i'm not too sure about this generic brand. I've had no side effects and when i took propecia you could feel your libido drop and sex drive drop. But with Finpecia ....nothing! It doesn't feel as potent! And we have been warned about generic brands on this site! i'm in two minds about this....if you can keep your hair would you be willing to pay double for PROPECIA rather than Finpecia that we know nothing about?

  8. Thanks for the input guys,

i'm on something called Finpecia and i get it from India been on it for 7 months now. You are right cant be too sure whats in it so i may buy the proper Propecia from my doctor!

Thanks for the advice. Yes i do have weird deffused hair loss. And I won't go for 4000 grafts as I may need to have more transplants. How many transplants can one have?

I will go for 2800 to cover the diffused thinning part at the front and top and do some crown work...

i hope its a good transplant its knocked my confidence loads.....also i cant show i've had work done so not going to shave recipient area

  9. Corvettester, thanks for the info! As you only have so much hair one can transplant on top of the head, don't you think i should try and get as many grafts from that one strip they take from the back of your head? So if i can reach 4000 or 4500 grafts then i should go for it?

I am taking Propecia but it's the generic brand called Finpecia....however i do not know how effective the generic brand is!

NEWHAIRPLEASE....why do you think i'm a good candidate for a HT?

    cHEERS Guys

  10. Hi All,

i'm planning on getting a hair transplant very soon, and as i've explained I will not be shaving the recipient area and will have the transplant as my hair look in the photo's i've attached. I want to findout as i'm kinda a diffuse thinner am i a good candidate for a transplant and how many grafts do you think i need cover most of the thinning area - am i looking around 3500-4000 grafts. Should i try and get as many grafts as possible from my first ever transplant So my hairline looks good again and we can get good coverage?

All comments welcome. Great site! Thanks

  11. Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I was under the assumption that not shaving the recipient area made the job a lot more difficult for the surgeon as they have to keep move back the native hair or work through it. if you look at my hairstyle in the photos would you suggest I shave it or keep it as it is at that length. Most of the photos i have seen of people who have had hair transplants like 99% have shaved the recipient area, do you have any photo's of people that havent? Cheers Buddy
