  1. Well typically people who wear a skin system do a full-scalp bond with glue. You can't use tape on them, because it would tear the base when you try to remove, and you need the full scalp bond otherwise they make a plastic bag noise when you touch the base. Obviously if the whole base is stuck down there is no movement of the piece on your head when you sleep. You could do a full-scalp glue bond with a lace base too, but it would be messy to clean up.

  2. Honestly, when you get to that degree of hairloss (>NW4) the only solution which will give you a full head of hair is a system. Meds are of little help, and transplants look pretty ropey spread out over that much empty space.

I have been wearing a system for a few years now, and have been really happy with it. Of course there is a bit of maintenance and expense, but they are quite manageable, and it has allowed me to enjoy my young prime years with a nice head of hair, which has helped my confidence in my social and work life. You can get great looking systems now for under $300 if you know where to look, and they are pretty much completely undetectable. This solution is not for everyone, but it is worth investigating if your hairloss is bothering you.

  3. Have you thought of New Roots - that is a long established place which has had good reviews over the years. It has some very good videos too,

Avoid Hair Club. Don't want to say too much on a public forum, but email me if you want details.

  4. Hi Malin180

I don't have much personal experience, because I buy my hair units on-line now, but if you are looking for a salon in SE England one supplier which has an impressive website and a good vibe is Hair4All. I have heard some good things about them.

Even the models' hair looks terrible in some of the other places you've listed, and presumably they get top attention and careful lighting and photography. You've got to wonder what the average Joe looks like coming out. I don't like to slag off another wearer, but have a look at "TV's Anthony Miller" on the London Clinic site, or the unfortunate Steve the musician at TotalCoverPlus with his 500% density hairline. Would you want to risk looking like those guys?

Good luck with whatever you decide on

    Ed
