  1. would like to re-open this:

i would like to hear some thoughts on trt, propecia and exactually what does propecia do beside lower dht to allow hair maintaince vs hair regrowth.

bigger question to tie this all together....

if one take testosterone for years and raises dht to a high level and creates hair loss....test blood dht level 80 range 30-75 ...then goes off testosterone

tests blood dht 46 (range 30-75)

would one suspect to achieve the same results as propecia?

hair regrowth ;thickening; ? and now be able to try rogaine?? ( as we know rogaine is useless in the fight against dht)

  2. been pn Hrt (testosterone) for over 5 years ..first couple years seemed ok..then I developed seborrheic dermatitis around my nose..then my scalp started itching like crazy...tried many dr. prescribed shampoos as well as over the counter...nothing has helped...hair loss started about 3 years ago . the issue now is my scalp is irritated constantly...

my only thought now is propecia...i had blood drawn 3 times over past 6 months my dht was between 80-95 each time...labcorp range 30-85..

i am not asking any doctors here to prescribe me anything . I am just looking for some input if i sound like someone who would benefit from propecia and if so to what extent...could it grow back hair lost over the past 4 years. thank you

  3. been on trt for 5 years ...my scalp started itching like crazy the second year of trt...had no clue it was due to the rising dht from the TrT (TESTOSTERONE).

I had and very thick head of hair until the trt....even years ago i used steroids lost some hair stopped and it all came back....

now my dr. is telling me to start propecia..to lower dht and bring back hair( really?).

    few questions I have

    1. does propecia only work by lowering dht ?

    2. has anybody succesfully regrown hair while still on trt by using propecia?

3.would it make sence to do propecia prior to hair transplant to lower dht and create a healthier scalp?

any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated.....i live everyday with insane scalp itch... all shampoo's (all) make my scalp feel good for few hours but by next morning scalp feels burned then itches rest of day...

  4. consumer reports did study on protein...these poison's could cause hairloss?

"But our investigation, including tests at an outside laboratory of 15 protein drinks, a review of government documents, and interviews with health and fitness experts and consumers, found most people already get enough protein, and there are far better and cheaper ways to add more if it's needed. Some protein drinks can even pose health risks, including exposure to potentially harmful heavy metals, if consumed frequently. All drinks in our tests had at least one sample containing one or more of the following contaminants: arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury. Those metals can have toxic effects on several organs in the body. "

  5. I was traveling recently and was talking to an M.D. who sat next to me on plane..discussed my hairloss and why propecia and durt. scare me ...he mentioned he read an article on CB0301..though said not his area and doesnt know much about it.

"Test items dispersed in a specific gel for hydroelectrophoresis, and applied to the scalp by

hydroelectrophoretic technique. Applications occurred once or twice a week, for five sessions of

    about 20 minutes each"

Did not use it for long, and the results was good. Follicular density went from 71 - 109 while it doubeled the hair diameter after only 4 weeks of 1%. Improved for 85%.

any Doctors here know of this? thx

  6. I am 7 months out from same Dr..........my hair looks like s***. (period)

I am not pushing him yet for answers or even complaining..I think it is fair to give time ;what if I am just a late grower..

Though; through my research since my procedure I have learned that the more epinephrine(no clue if spelled right) used ,the less likely your results will be good...also will cause more shock loss...i had a two day fue; lots of trama ..would not do that again..FUG less time in chair= less trama and= less epi =less risk of trama to head, and even the graphs.

This should be a top topic on all HRT forums. This is what decides successful transplants...

  7. i was shedding alot since hrt in jan. ..i have recently started 1%nizoral 1x per week and other days head n shoulders...so far less shedding but in the past 5 months 1-2 has ment nothing I have ended up shedding again was using only baby shampoo..will see if new protocol helps..I will add biotin though I did much reading which didnt show much promise of that or saw palmetto.

  8. Been a rough 18 weeks hair really looks like shit now after all the shedding..I am still clining to the "5 month miracle where the shedding stops and I see some growth and re-growth".

Xandros or Revivogen safe for me to try if still shedding from surgery? And as an anti dht do they really work? thx

  9. Dr. Feller your input is welcomed greatly; in my profession I dont hold back I help those that ask questions even if they were not a client of mine at the time..too many professionals sit back and do not help educate others; again thank you...

To my dismay yes I was given the "Epi" all through the surgery and in the frontal part of my head. Everytime the staff would see me feel some pain they would give me another shot they said if I felt pain I would create more bleeding which would not be good for the graphs. I want you to know each time I got Epi I would feel a sort if rush of blood or my heart would pound for a minute which really scared me a bit so in turn I was trying to hide the pain as they were working cause I didnt want more shots ; really the pain was bearable but they saw me squinting a bit...also the epi shoits I think were the most painful part of entire surgery

Yes I have good hair in front I was a norwood 1 and am 2 if not a bit worse now...I lost more on the right side even lower as you go towards the ear..

I think my biggest mistake was not makeing sure the Dr. oversaw all..He didnt do the extractions or even have any idea of how many epi shots I was given...yes I blame me not him I could have spoken up and been more asertive as to what would have made me more comfortable and possibly given me a better result ..but that only time will tell.

    my concerns

    1.too much epi

2.graphs too close to existing hair

3.back to back surgery 8 hours two days in row

    4.extraction semed difficult for them

5.only 1500 graphs vs what I have lost and asked dr how many 1's 2's 3's seemed clueless said guess's most were 2's
