  1. if you ask if i was happy with the results? i would say am 80%satisfied.

i had hair plugs before, and there was a stage when i couldnt see my head in the mirror, it was ugly. i lost all hope to have a normal head of hair. my doc has corrected that and also given me a good hairline. i had nothing in a major part of the frontal. i was completely bald. so, from nothing this has come.

after seeing the post op pic, i did expect a more thicker result. but it's fine. i am ready to go for one more procedure.

who doesnt want a thicker hairline? everybody wants one. :)

as my work is in front of the camera, under the studio lights, i hope the next procedure will be sufficient.

i have to admit, it's been a frustrating wait, as my work is put on hold. because of "hair".

thanks for letting me know abt the oral minox, i will ask the doc if i have to stop it before the procedure.

i never took anything before the 1st procedure. i had alcohol 5 days before the procedure the last time. the bleeding could be because of that. but the doc dismissed that. he said it can be my body type also.

    and does msm/biotin really help?

Magicaltimes, you are right, people with straight hair usually need more grafts, especially, if it is really thin hair. Those with curly / wavy hair get really good coverage. Hair thickness does matter too. I also have straight hair. I am only a little over 3 1/2 months from the day I had my procedure. I had a large area covered with 3,000+ grafts. However, my head is much larger then yours I think. I have a wider head so the span is greater. I went for dense packing, I had decent density just like you. I even think our hair is somewhat similar to a degree.

The density I got from my transplant consists of 65cm on hairline, behind hairline it is 55cm, sides are 50 cm, overall it is 58cm density.

Now, you said the doctor couldn't pack your grafts in close enough as you had excessive bleeding. Hopefully, this time around they can get a little closer. I'd try to ask them to add a little more density to the hairline and then focus on the other areas of concern. I am trying to give you my honest opinion to help you out. The hairline is good, but I think it can be better if they can get closer if there is no excessive bleeding. Are you looking for a denser hairline too? I personally think the hairstyle you have would look awesome with a hairline a little more dense then what you have.

Hopefully, I hope you don't have excessive bleeding. However, you are taking oral minoxidil. So, I would urge caution. Were you taking this before the last procedure? This is because it acts as a vasodilator and relaxes the blood vessels. If you are taking it for a blood pressure problem, then I would not stop it unless the doctor tells you too, but I think it will cause extra bleeding during your procedure. Usually, doctors tell people to discontinue topical rogaine like 2 weeks before a procedure to reduce bleeding. I don't know if it is the same with oral minoxidil. If you take green tea too, then you should also avoid that. Certain things can cause blood to thin and you may not be aware of it, even some vitamins and other medications.

I think your result was good here but with the touch up it will look great. You already have a great hairstyle picked out and I think it suits you really well. Your temples look pretty good and imo it will be a great great result in 6 months so you have nothing to worry about.

It's great you are going to start finasteride, it does help. You can consider other things as well after your procedure, MSM or Biotin as most guys take them on here and they do help.

I hope that info helps. Again, best of luck with everything.

  2. I think the medication you were taking did help you in your midscalp region and behind it.

However, I do think another session is needed to add density. I don't think the result is as dense as it should have been due to your density. You have thick hair in general. However, some areas still seem to need density.

"3431 grafts and 7164 hairs in total. Doc said i had real thick hair.

    1 hair 449 grafts

    2 hairs 2231grafts

    3 hairs 751grafts"

For 7,164 thick hairs and the number of grafts used for the size of the region, I'd imagine it being a stronger result.

It seems the left side of your head is a little bit stronger, but your mid frontal to right side is where the density is lacking. At what density was the hairline planted again? I think since you had thick hair, if lots of 1 hair grafts were extracted they would have been very beneficial to the hairline.

You clearly did have growth though, it's not like you didn't. You do have hair where you didn't once but just needs a little more density. Not to worry though, the touchup you are considering should do the trick. The hairstyle you chose is nice.

Have you tried any other medications or topical minoxidil?

    Best of Luck.

my density was 45 per sq cm in the central hairline and 30 towards the sides. i also remember the doc telling me, he couldnt put the grafts closer as blood was popping out every time an insertion was made.

i did visit the doc last month. he asked me to come for one more procedure. i feel mine being straight hair needs more grafts than curly hair for a dense look.

i think it should look great 6 months after the 2nd procedure.

and regarding the medication,i have been taking only oral minoxidil.

i have cut down the 5mg of oral minoxidil because i was having hair all over the place. including cheeks, temples and forehead. i am taking 2.5 mg of oral minoxidil everyday. it is much better.

after the 2nd procedure, planning to start finasteride 1 mg...

  3. Hi friends,

it's been 6 months since my procedure. i can notice the hair thickening in the last 3 weeks. till the 5th month, did not see much growth...

i have been trimming it at regular intervals.

    Thanks.

  4. i checked my weight yday, it has increased by almost 4kgs in the last 1month.

which is abnormal considering i put in a good 2 hr workout 6 days a week.

and i feel bulkier in the stomach and feels it has a lot of fluid. a very strange feeling.

is it(water retention) because of the oral minox?

i read a post saying water retention is also one of the side effects, and also a stroke!

should i reduce my dosage from 5 mg to 2.5mg?

    or completely cut the medication?

    has anyone else experienced this?

  5. hey guys, it's been 3 months. been growing really well.

all hairs had fallen off after 6 weeks. 4 weeks were pretty challenging. was completely bald on top.

the last 2 weeks have been very good. lot of new growth.

the hairline formed on one side just a couple of days back. was so excited! looking for major improvement in the coming month! here are a few pics...

all pics are taken under natural lighting.

  6. it's been 6 weeks since the procedure.

i've been taking minoxidil 5mg oral and i am seeing fabulous results. thanks to dr.path. the only downside is there is also a lot of body hair which i trim at regular intervals.

almost all hairs have shed. pimples are popping in here and there. 8 to 10 in total.

going for a haircut in a weeks time. excited!
