  1. i am from singapore too and i find it really difficult to find a excellent HT surgeon in singapore. i think all the HT surgeon in spore don't do HT as their full time profession. most are aesthetic/ cosmetic/ plastic surgeons doing HT.

i just had my HT with Dr Pong from Chiang Mai, and yes, he does only strip. I am not sure of the results now as i am only 2 months post op.

  2. i am now officially 1 month post op from my HT. some of my progress so far:

about 70-90% of the transplanted grafts had shed so far. why i am saying 70-90% is because it seems that about 90% of the grafts on my left receding hairline had shed, but only 70% on my right side.

shock loss on the recipient is slightly noticeable. but definitely not as bad as my donor area. i had a very bad shock loss at the scar line. i can feel that the shock loss in my donor area caused a smooth bald patch about 3cm long.. i am freaked out. the shock loss started from day 14. the shock loss seems to have stopped, or maybe is because not much hair left to be shocked out anymore.

started my rogaine on day 14. i usually apply to only the thinning area, now i am even applying it on my scar to help the shock loss grow back earlier.

i not only gonna wait for the newly transplanted hair to grow back, i also need to wait for my shocked hair at donor area to grow back. OMG!!!! DOUBLE combo emotional stress for me.

i am also on MSM 1000mg and biotin 1.3mg. i think this is post HT syndrome where i try to get on more n more hair growth supplement which i had never consider starting on pre HT.

another post HT syndrome which i believe most of us are having i.e. surfing this forum everyday for more than few hours. damn, this forum is more addictive than porn!!

  3. hi guys

i am using nioxin shampoo system 2 currently. however, the nioxin website says that to achieve results, i need to add in the conditioner and scalp therapy.

i am wondering any guys who are using nioxin shampoo, do u also use their conditioner and scalp therapy.

even for guys who are not using nioxin products, do you use conditioner and scalp therapy on top of your regular shampoo?

  4. Hi Jimmybald

i can see that you are rather concerned about the slightly thinning crown because this the 2nd time that you are asking about it.

personally i think that your hair looks great and i will not fix the crown yet if i were you at this stage.

however, if all existing factors suggest that you might not be heading towards a NW 5 and above, then fixed it rather than letting it bothers your daily life.

but fingers crossed for your future, make sure you still have sufficient donor hair after your crown transplant in case your balding do get worse.

anyway, how is your hairline transplant progressing with Dr Pong? Is the results "wow" till date?

  5. Hi Icarus

i just went thru my HT with Dr Pong about 20 days ago. I can't speak of the results now cause its too early, but i can share my experience with you about the procedure.

the procedure itself was mainly painless except for some injections here n there. Dr Pong does only 1 patient a day so you can be sure he will be attending to you while doing the procedure.

when i was in Dr Pong clinic, i personally saw 1 of his ex-patient. The ex-patient went for his 2nd HT with Dr Pong few days before me and was going for his daily post op shampoo at his clinic. Dr Pong then show me the ex-patient's before and after his 1st HT photo, and the results are great. Anyway, if the results aren't great, he wouldn't be showing me that too.

my immediate post op seems very similar to what i saw from patients' blog, i.e. the dense packing, the angle the grafts was placed and etc.

Dr Pong's charges is definitely cheaper than Dr Path, but ultimately its the results that matters which i can't comment at this point of time. i hope that i chosen the right surgeon.

Maybe you can do an online consultation with both surgeons and see which doc do you feel more comfortable with.

  6. Shockloss is nerve racking but as long as you had a good surgeon which I'm sure you had then it will return. Before my Ht I was nervous having a Ht in-between so much existing hair but I'd do it a million times now.

i am having shockloss at my donor area now, freaking me out whenever i shampoo my hair.

hi bonkerstoner, i saw ur blog and found that u too had this problem. have all the shockloss around your scar regrow back?
