  1. I was not shy about going for hair transplant so I had no qualms telling anyone who sees my transplanted hair or the donor stitches/scar.

However there are some individuals that I do not wish to tell, so if these people ever ask, here's what I will say:

Transplanted Hair: "Oh... as you know, I was in Thailand for a week. I became a novice monk, it's a common custom in Thailand. So as a gesture, they shaved a little off my hair. It was tough man, no beer and sex for a week! But it was great for some inner reflection...."

Stitches/Scar: "Oh I was just having a drink at (name of your fav pub). Was minding my own business when a beautiful lady chatted me up. After a while she wanted to bring me home but I refused, telling her that I'm married/tired/not in the mood. She didn't take kindly to that so I learned the hard way not to refuse a frustrated woman...."

Hope these excuses will come in useful for you one day! ;)

  2. Hi Waveskier

The clinic asked for my weight, make calculations then gave me 4 Valiums. (I weigh 60kg so I presume 1 Valium/15kg?)

Someone also told me that if you drink (alcohol) regularly, Valium is less effective on you because they work in a similar way. I'm no doctor or chemist, so maybe someone who is knowledgeable in this area can enlighten?

I enjoy a beer/wine/spirit with my dinner and typically take a few drinks a week, so perhaps there's some truth here.

  3. Appreciate the encouraging comments from everyone.

    RodG and wb280:

I was given 4 Valiums at 9am and pretty much lights out until around 1pm when I was semi-awake and knew they were putting the grafts on my forehead.

I started asking questions and moving my hands/feet as they were numb. At that point I heard Dr Path's voice... I think he wasn't amused with my movement and ordered more Valiums which again knocked me out.

Did not feel hungry or thirsty at all. When I woke again at 4:30pm everything was completed.

David: You are welcome and should be rightly proud of this site! I will update my blog as and when there is significant progress.

  4. Hi Everyone

Just had my HT by Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich on 28 Dec 2010. For those who are interested, my hairloss blog is Hair Restoration Site for dtyn

I would like to thank everyone in this site/forum. I did research online and it was this forum that helped me understand HT better. More importantly, it is through this site that I managed to find a great HT surgeon like Dr. Path that is only 2 hours flight from where I live!

Dr Path and his team are professional and very capable. There is no surprise that he was awarded the 'Golden Follicle 2010'. My experience was pleasant and wonderful like all the others who have put up their blogs.

Hence I will be 'paying it forward' by faithfully updating my hair growth progress on my blog. For a start, I have done up a 'photo-guide' for directions to Dr. Path's clinic. Link to direction guide: Hair Restoration Journal -How To Get To DHT Clinic

This should be useful for those who plan to visit Dr.Path's clinic and are less familiar with Bangkok.

I sincerely hope my blog will be helpful to fellow hairloss sufferers out there. Once again, my deepest gratitude to Hair Transplant Network.
