  1. All,

I am looking for advice on a good FUE clinic... I have been in touch with Dr. Koray Erdogan's clinic, as he was my first choice, but I cannot get available dates for the period I have my leave...

Please can someone recommend a top clinic? Ideally in Europe, as I prefer to stay close to the UK... I have previously had 3000 grafts from another clinic about 18 months ago, and now need coverage in the crown and more at the front...

    Much appreciate...

  2. Hi All - Thanks for all the advice... I guess you start to worry when you see others having great early growth and compare your own results at that same stage...

I got a negative comment today from a work colleague about my thinning hair which made me more determined to talk to him when I eventually have my finished result and hopefully I'll be able to make him eat his words ;0)

  3. Hi

I'm at 3 months post op of my FUE procedure after having approx 3000 grafts. I seem to have had alot of my native hair growing back and assume this down to the meds (Biotin and Fin). I also can feel some stubble from the implanted hairs, but the growth is very slow with those hairs.

My only concern is that it feels like only approx. 20%-30% of the implanted 3000 grafts seem to be growing currently.

Is this normal for 3 months? When should I expect to feel more growth or at least a reasonable amount of growth?

    Thanks in advance...

  4. All,

Since my FUE procedure is nearing in December, I just wanted to get some advice on the aftercare following a FUE procedure.

Can folks share some products they recommend to help reduce swelling, redness, etc. Also, any do's and dont's that you may think are useful.

    Much appreciated,

    J

  5. All,

I'm booked for my FUE HT in December and have a few last minute queries:

    1) I'm still not sure whether to go for manual extraction or motorised. Have folks on here had better success with manual?

    2) I've been told by the clinic that the following will be done, but want to get people's views on whether I should ask for the Dr to be more hands on with the actual extraction:

    - Extracting will done by a tech

    - Implanting will be done by the Dr and a tech

    - Hair line implanting will be done by the Dr

    3) I'm about a NW 4/5 with frontal work required as well as vertex, and in total going for about 4500 grafts. However, I'm now thinking whether I should focus on the frontal and middle area, so that the procedure overall is smaller. My question is, are smaller procedures of say 3000 - 3500 grafts more prone to be successful than a larger session of say 4500 grafts?

I guess I'm more concerned about the yield and if a smaller procedure is more likely to give me that then I'll take that approach.

So please can the trusted members of this forum give me some advice on the above?

    Thanks,

    J

  6. All,

I had been impressed with Dr Hakan Doganay's work, but recently there have been a number of patients that have had negative experiences or should I say not so good results.

I since started to look at other HT docs and cannot find a single negative post about Dr Lorenzo. His results for high norwood patients are top notch so wanted to seek other people's opinions on whether they also feel Dr Lorenzo is the safer bet?

Also, anyone have any idea how long the wait time is to get a slot with Dr Lorenzo?

    Thanks,

    J

  7. Hey thepasserby have you had your op with Dr Doganay yet? I'm planning my op with him in Dec... are you based in the UK?

    Hello everyone

I am going to Turkey in October for a FUE with Dr. Doganay.

I picked Dr. Doganay based on the reviews on this web site, the reasonable cost of having my HT by him and also bad representation from some other surgeons.

I'm 37 and a NW3 and have been suffering from thinning hair since early 20s. I have been trying so hard to cover up my scalp that I didn't realise how bad the situation was, hair wise!

Anyway, around 18 months ago I started Propecia and Minoxidil (again) and so far I have seen very good results. I have to say I didn't expect much from oral treatments, but my crown is full of hair now and new tiny hairs all over. If hadn't stop taking these two when I was 25, I wouldn't have needed HT now, so I do recommend them to other fellow sufferers. My full regime in the past year or so has been:

Topical: Minoxidil, Oral: Propecia, Saw palmetto, Biotin, Niacin, Shampoos: Nizoral and regenepure. As I said I have seen great results with no side effects what so ever.

I just want to share a point and ask your opinion.

To pick a surgeon I relied mostly on this web site and members' experiences. But to choose one for myself, I tried to find bad reviews so I could cross out some names and make it easier to decide with whom to go. But all the reviews are almost the same and pictures are similar.

I for a person can't tell the difference between the HT results, based on pictures. After all no Doctor would post a bad result and that's why I was looking for bad reviews left by other members but so far I've seen none. My point is, looking at pictures is encouraging but can also fool you just like a TV commercial would.

As a father of two the cost of the surgery matters to me (feeling a little guilty), but I didn't choose Dr. Doganay only for financial reasons. I could get less grafts with the same money from other surgeons and still be happy, but what's the point in waiting weeks only to get a reply to your email, then wait months for the surgery and pay 3-4 times the money you could spend in Turkey? As long as you have done your research the names don't matter much (personal opinion, please share yours).

I'm going to share the details of my trip and appreciate your honest comments.

Please if you have had a bad experience with Dr. Doganay or know someone who has, kindly let me know.

    Regards

  8. Hi,

I have booked my FUE HT in December abroad outside of the UK and wanted to know whether the sick note that is offered by the doctor will be valid for me to take the first 2 weeks off work as sick? Or do I have to get my GP in the UK to provide me with a sick note?

For a FUE procedure, I have been told you should take the first 2 weeks off work, would you all agree this is a sensible amount of time or do you recommend more time?

    Thanks,

    Jay
