  1. Hi everyone. Just wanted to add my .002. I had a HT done by Dr. Feller 13 months ago and I couldn't be happier. He and his staff were absolutely professional, caring, and did everything they could to explain what they were doing every step of the way. I was not looking for a "spa" atmosphere: I was going in for a surgical procedure. And my results are excellent. Yes, it took a while for the shaved area to grow in, but I got creative with "combovers", hairspray and toppik. I would never hesitate to recommend Dr. Feller and his team 110 %. And BTW, he did my father, too, who looks 20 yrs younger than before. Jan

  2. Dr. Feller did the surgery- 1685 (strip). My father (age 72) actually had his done 2 months after me...Dr. Feller did close to 4000 grafts for him. His looks fantastic. We'll get some pics of him, too. He says he gets carded for the senior discount now..... maybe spex can confirm this, but we may be the only father/daughter transplant patients

  3. Okay, I am almost at the 6 week point and I am starting to see some little hairs peek thru... icon_biggrin.gif. Happy camper here. Actually, I'm surprised to see anything at this point... The shed happened at approx 2 weeks post op, and I thougth the dormant period was considerably longer. I guess the growth will be at different times. Now the native hair is about 1/2' long (the area was shaved) and some new growth is just barely peeking thru. My hair is rather dark, so it, pretty easy to see.

Hoping to see lots more soon! Janis

Happy Thankgiving everyone (even to you guys in the UK icon_smile.gif

  5. Hey Predator (I never tought I'd be writing to someone with a screenname "Predator"), please don't be discouraged. I, too, am in the waiting period. It really is hard during this time, but hey, I'm a woman, who had the top of her head shaved! Just think ahead to the summer, when you'll have all the new growth....look at pics of you from last summer and think of how much better it will be in 09. Do not regret your decision- think ahead and try to be positive icon_biggrin.gif

  6. and wearing a hat is certainly easy. I have two boys at home, so we have lots of baseball caps here. The funny thing is, I had forgotten to bring a cap with me on surgery day. Dr. Feller gave me a Yankees cap.

My 10 year old came into the den that night, saw me (in my vicodin haze) in the Yankees cap and said, "Sorry, mom, but the Yankees suck" and then promptly handed me his Mets cap. My other son has donated more caps to my cause since then, too.

  7. Hi- I am a female, age 37, who is 23 days post op (HT done by Feller, strip, 1685). I'm very happy with how things are so far, and it seems that I'm right on schedule (shedding started at about 16 days post op). Ive read on this board that some of you take MSM. How much do you take? I know that it's a waiting game for the new hair to make their appearance, but the recipient area was shaved, and it would be nice to speed up the growth of those hairs, at least. Are there any side effects? Do you really notice a difference? Thanks for any responses Janis
