I just wanted to ask a few questions about the donor scars from a strip procedure. I was at a seminar of one of the HT surgeons in Sydney. His name is Dr Barry White. He had a few models showing their HT's. He is supposed to be one of the best in Oz. When I saw the donor scars they where up to 5mm thick in some spots and nowhere were they less than 2mm thick. Also the base of the FU's did not look they were flush with the skin. It looked like the hair was coming out of a small bump of skin. Is that how a FU HT and donor scar is supposed to look? Because that did not look like a pencil line scar. The hair looked natural from far away but when you come up close you can tell that it isn't. I thought with FU HT's you can tell the difference. Can the docs please tell me if they are the results I should expect of is he just a crappy doc?

Thanks for the reply Doc. I understand that some people scar and heal differently but the thing is that both of the models had very thick scars and both of the models hair looked like it was coming out of little "skin mounds". I had a bit of an accident a few years ago and had to have 9 stitches on the top of my head and that left a scar that was very thin. Is that the type of donor scar I should expect from my first HT procedure?

How many grafts did he say you needed and what norwood do you think you are. I am also considering Barry do do my surgery. mm2 where are you from and do you have any post op pictures?

I noticed the surgeon that I am thinking of using is on here but he wasn't part of the selective few about a month ago. His name is Dr White. Did somebody find out something new about him in the last 2 months or so?

I'm a norwood 3a. I'm thinking of doing up the hair line and thickening the crown. Where in australia are you do you mind me asking. Was also wondering if I can get your email address to ask you a few more questions if you don't mind that is. I haven't actually spoken to Barry yet. I've spoken to Marcus and Claude up here in sydney. Can I ask you what norwood you were and how many grafts did you get done? Thanks for your reply Aussie boy. This board is really good to do research on HT's but it's sort of hard because everyone talks about US Docs but not many talk about Aussie Docs. Thanks again

If your only one week post op how do you know what your doing on day ten. One week is 7 days. That looks like an advertisment to me.

Do you have alot of scarring from having 5 operations? And was the doctor able to make the plugs look better with the FU's. If I sound rude asking these q's I'm sorry but I am considering having a HT and I want to know as much as possible. Also how much donor hair do you have left. Do you have enough to have another HT?

Thanks Arfy for that page about Dr White. Just wanted to ask if you know anything about Dr Russell Knudsen. If anybody knows anything about Dr Knudsen in Sydney could you please reply and give me some feedback?

Dr woods is ok but he charges an arm and a leg. If i go to Dr Woods it would cost me about 4 times as much as it would with the normal strip method.

I have read alot of your posts and it gets me inspired to have the procedure myself. I am in australia and considering having the procedure done by Dr White. Has anybody here had any experience with Dr White in Melbourne and would you recomend him. I am also worried about shock loss as I still have a considerable amout of hair. Can somebody let me know how bad the effect of shock loss is on existing hair?
