  1. I've seen quite a few people discuss this with some enthusiasm. A few questions spring to mind if thats ok:

    1. Are there any downsides to taking it?

    2. Do people take this (or advise taking it) on a regular basis or just after your HT when you are experiencing no/slow growth?

    Thanks

    What is MSM?

  4. A few questions in relation to this if thats alright:

    1. Does the ugly duckling phase mean because of different hair length, swelling etc?

    2. If you had recipient area shaved, could you still suffer shock loss?

    3. If you do suffer shock loss, how long til this grows back?

    4. Surely it would be easiest to have a "buzz" cut ie Grade 1 all over, but then do you risk exposing your scar in the donor area?

I'm into my third week and have no problems in terms of swelling or discolouration, but the hair from the grafts is beginning to shed which means I'm looking a lot worse than pre-HT (I had the recipient area shaved). Oh, and Dr Ron Shapiro did my op.

    Thanks

  5. Hello one and all,

Please excuse the scatter-gun nature of this post, but I am planning on having a procedure (c.2500 grafts) with Dr Ron Shapiro in August and have some queries:

    1. I'm from the UK - I plan to fly in 2 days before and leave 2 days afterwards. Does this sound reasonable?

    2. How long does the healing take? The reason I ask is I will need to go back to work within a couple of weeks and have a wedding to attend on the 27 September so would hope that all effects from the operation would have been safely covered up by then.

    3. How long til you see tangible results? The reason I ask is that I am actually getting married next year - probably June - and this is a very important consideration!

    4. Can anyone recommend a decent hotel to stay at in Bloomington, Minnesota?!

    5. Any general remarks on SMG would also be useful.

For info purposes, I have also addressed these concerns to SMG but would be interested in other people's views.

Thanks very very much for your help.
