  1. This is my opinion based on results I have seen from over 1 year of research:

    1) Rahal

    2) Hasson

    3) Shapiro

In my opinion Armani was also in this top tier group when he was performing strip procedures. I have not seen enough of his larger FUE sessions to have an opinion one way or the other.

I believe those clinics are showing consistanly great results. They also seem to be equipped to perform larger megasessions in one sitting. I have seen more megasessions from Rahal and Hasson.

However, there are lots of good results from a lot of docs recommended on this site. Hope this helps.

  2. Hi omviki,

I had my procedure done a few weeks ago with Dr. Rahal and there was hardly any pain. The shots sting a little but the needles he uses are small. I think the shots are less painful than the ones you get at a dentist. Don't worry about it at all. He's also always checking up on you to see if you are experiencing any pain, and if you are he will give you more anesthetic. Good luck with your procedure and let us know how it goes.

  3. I think people noticing obviously depends on how bald you are prior to the surgery and how many grafts you get.I guess you could always tell people you got the results from meds. But I had my hair transplant done a few weeks ago and I tell everyone. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal at all. I mean it's your own hair that you are moving around to look better. It's not like you are wearing a wig to be embarressed, and with a good doc the results should look totally natural. If anything it just shows that you care about your appearance, which I think is a positive. I think its less of an issue than even breast implants for women because its not like your putting some foreign substance into your buddy.

  4. Hi Slick,

I believe this second procedure will definately give you the density you are looking for. You are through the tough point and now it will only get better.

I just had my procedure done and I'm a bit concerned about shockloss. Quick question, how much shockloss would you say you had if any? Thanks in advance and happy growing to you.

  5. Hi NW5a,

I don't know the exact size of the balding area.

I do have the hair count:

    1108 singles

    2803 doubles

    422 triples

    1 quad

    -------

    7,984 hairs total.

Dr. Rahal said I have good hair quality, but very average to even a bit below average density. I also had good laxity after performing the scalp exercises for a month prior to surgery.

    Thanks,

  6. Hello Everyone,

I want to share my hair transplant experience and pictures with this great community. I did a lot of research on this website and it was a great resource in leading me to a first class physician.

I chose Dr. Rahal because of the consistantly great results I saw from his patients. I also think his hairline work is one of a kind. I have thinning hair from the front to crown region and wanted to have a megasession done. My goal was to have the thickest head of hair possible in a year, but at the same time I'm also realistic. I started on Propecia 2 months prior to surgery and have been on rogaine since I was 21. I'm currently 27. Propecia seems to be working well and I have not suffered any side effects. I just hope it stops future hair loss.

I spoke to Adrian (Dr. Rahal's representative) on several occasions prior to the procedure. He is a true gentleman. He answered all my questions and put my mind at ease about the surgery.

I traveled a long way from Cali to Ottawa and met with Dr. Rahal the day prior to surgery. After speaking to him for just a few moments, I knew he wanted to get me the best result possible. At the same time he was always keeping in mind future hair loss. Dr. Rahal really tries to address all your concerns. We ended up deciding to go with somewhere around 4,000 grafts.

The surgery itself was not very painful at all. The shots sting, but the needles they use are very small. I was really freaked out about having the strip cut prior to the surgery. But this part was a breeze, and I felt absolutely nothing.

I think the worst part of the procedure is just having to sit still for so long. My procedure lasted 11 hours because of the larger number of grafts. In total we got 4,334 grafts. Dr. Rahal's staff were all wonderful. I had some minor pain for a few days after the procedure, but the pain killers Dr. Rahal gave me took that away.

Now the tough part has started (WAITING). I joked with Dr. Rahal that I wish the grafts they just didn't shed. How great would that be?I think everyone and their mother would be getting a hair transplant. Anyways, I think the end result is worth the wait.

I highly recommend Dr. Rahal and his staff. Don't let distance get in the way. I will answer any questions anyone has. Thanks.
