The transplant itself looked fine. It looks as though the grafts may have just been rejected by your head or something. There are always going to be that handful of people in which a hair transplant simply doesn't work out. After looking at your initial photos though, it does not appear to be a complete failure. I would give the clinic a call and I'm sure they will work with you to try and figure out a reasonable solution, depending on the options (if any) available. Good luck

My friend, 6 months is hardly even the starting point. That's just basic healing time, hardly enough for any ample amount of time to judge your results. I wouldn't even begin to worry until the 1 year mark and even then the hair will not be full matured. I think there are way too many variations of results that tend to make others expect too much too soon. Just give it time, relax, and make sure your staying healthy to help your healing progress come along.

C, i am at the point whereby i no longer hinge on the hope that there will be new hairs. I think i will just settle with existing hairs thickening as they are still v thin and wispy and curly... Do u see a big difference between your lets say 9mths and 18mths?

Yes! Actually after a year I remember thinking "well it turned out pretty good" then a few months later, I could tell when washing my hair and even in photos, the density got better and it really "filled" in as it thickened up. If you think of it like a babies hair, it takes years for it to mature. Granted a hair transplant is a bit different scenario but not entirely. You are taking hair to completely re-build itself and it takes time to set its place in the new location and mature fully. As it goes through its phases of growth and even falling out and growing back in.

Looks great thus far! Keep in mind, you will still have a bit more maturing for the next 6 months or so and I think you'll find the shafts and hair itself maturing a bit even more.

Agreed. I think with all the anticipation we have for growth, it is nice to hear all the reassuring posts about "4mth growth, 6mth explosion" etc... When, in reality, regardless how great of a grower you think you might be. The actually results will not show up until 12-18mth post procedure. I have had great results showing at 3mths and 6 mths, but it takes only one thing for the shaft to thicken and fully mature... and thats time.

Once it really has time to develop and catch up to where your natural hair is, you will be amazed how much of a difference it will make. Though the gradual progress is great to see, time and patience are the ultimately the key to a great final result.

I think everyones experience is a bit different. I swelled, as most people do but 90% of it is the numbing injections working its way down your forehead.

For me, yes some discomfort but hardly intolerable. I was out hiking after 2 days and a week I was good to do whatever though I rested just to help the healing process. I am a quick healer and I think everyone has a different thresh hold for pain as I didnt need meds. I had about 3500 grafts.

All in all, I agree it is great for everyone willing to post experiences, as it gives future patients an idea of the range of outcomes they can look to expect. Its not always as easy as some of the writeups make it seem.

Thanks. Yes my loss was mostly in the center/crown and in the front a bit. I have a cowlick in the front which took some strategy to get proper placement but came out great. I think my month 6 I should have some really nice growth.

Wow 3 surgeries and only that amount of grafts is a lot of recovery for such a little amount. He probably should have saved and done it all at once. If he did them all in 2009 then his hair couldn't have had ample time to see the full results until the next surgery. You can see the wrinkles on his forhead have dissipated as well unless hes still swollen.

How many grafts were done? Client seems to have a nice donor area. I would say a second pass would serve him well.

I wouldn't worry too much. Some seem to have later growth than others. My first I really didn't see the end result until a year and a half with my first at 3500 grafts. My second Ive already seen growth at 3 months with about 3400 grafts. Its odd how the growth can vary but give it some time.
