  1. 7 Month update.......

I am very pleased with the results so far. It's all really beginning to thicken up and the closure this time round was amazing. I was worried about the 3rd strip and the possibility of it stretching but this was the best closure out of the 3 ops, truly undetectable. I did however have quite bad shock loss around the sides of scar which i had to use Dermatch in early days but it's all growing back now. Sorry the pictures are not the best, I will take some better ones next time, as you can see these are taken with hair gel and for those who don't know I had very aggressive hair loss, severe nw 6 territory.

Mainly just hairline and temple photos, I will try take some above photos and crown in next few days.

  2. Now I remember why I stopped posting on the forums, he he !

Everyone has their own opinions on who is the best but for someone like me who needed a lot of grafts then Dr Hasson is the only one.

See a mention before about the possibility of becoming a nw7 and I was hearing that same thing when I had my first ht 8 years ago. Suppose nobody knows how they are going to end up but I've mirrored my hair loss on that of the rest of my family and nobody is a nw7. In fact both of my Grandfathers died with full heads of hair, my farther is nw 6 like myself and still has very thick donor hair in his mid 60's.

Back home now and the swelling reduced sufficiently for a comfortable flight home, will update photos as and when. Looking forward to getting the staples out but I must say that the closure looks fantastic, even better than on 2 previous occasions.

  4. Thanks the the comments.

Win200 I was told by posting pictures on forums before my first ht that I wouldn't be suitable for any ht's as I had a poor donor density and to much area to cover, by others posters. Luckily I still wen't ahead and Dr Hasson said my density was very high indeed and my scalp laxity was freakish. After this last surgery Dr H said I still had the laxity of an average virgin scalp.

Harin, 2006 was first 08 second and now just had third.

Thanks David, the swelling has gone down quite a lot now so I actually look half normal again just like I've been eating lots of pies ! Flight is tonight at midnight so should be all good.

Will post better pictures when I arrive back in the UK and keep you all updated.

  5. Hi all, been a long time since I've been about in the forums but I decided to have a 3rd ht with Dr Hasson and sat here in the Sheraton Hotel with not much else to do ! Face has really swelled up again so won't be venturing out tonight in case I scare folk !

Just recovering in Vancouver from my 3rd ht with H&W which was a total of 3180 grafts which puts me over 14,000 grafts in total from my 3 strip procedures with Dr Hasson. Once again it was a truly professional caring service all round and all the staff really are great. I'm now at that horrible swelling stage and my eyes have almost completely closed up, hoping that it's all cleared up for my flight home on Monday.

Some of you may remember me from the forums and I was a regular poster before and after my ht's and it was reading through these that I decided that Dr Hasson was the only man that could do something for a severe nw6 case like myself.

This time around we addressed the mid section behind the hairline, the hairline itself and temple points which had receded very noticeably over the years. Also a very small amount of grafts were put into the crown.

Think that's me done now and would never believe that this many grafts could be extracted, Dr Hasson said that this is his biggest case ever in total.

    HT 1 - 7761 Grafts strip

    HT 2 - 3521 Grafts strip

    HT 3 - 3180 Grafts strip

    Total - 14,462 Grafts

Will update with better pics when I get home.

  6. Thanks for all the comments.

Wanthairs, I can only mirror my hairloss on family members and I don't have any nw7's in the family. My dad started losing his hair at the same age as me and was a nw 5/6 at 30 years old. His hair has stayed the same since and he's 60 now.

Of course it's a risk but it's a calculated one, no one really knows how bald they are going to end up, all we can do is look at our family members as a guide.

Spex, Read over on HLh that one of your twins is unwell, hope she gets better soon my man.

  7. Eman,

    1. The reason I went for a second ht was to mainly concentrate on lowering the hairline to where I wanted it. The position of my hairline now frames my face much better and will allow me more styling options.

    2. The hairline.

    3. I did think before my first ht that I would need 2 procedures to get where I wanted to be.

    4. I was ecstatic with the way my first ht turned out and could of easily settled for just the one procedure. I guess hair greed had a bit to do with it, but I am so glad that I did have this procedure done. The new hairline will be the icing on the cake.

If you would have shown me how my first ht would turn out beforehand, then I would say that I'd never get another ht. Once you have one done, you get hair greed and want more.

    Cheers.

  8. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys.

Nobuzz, The scar is 30cm's in length which is pretty long. When you have so much area to cover then I suppose a scar this length has to be expected. I have mirrored my hairloss on my fathers who is a nw6. There are no nw7's in the family and I trust Dr Hasson with his judgement. He also said I have another substantial size strip left if ever needed. Another reason he went high into the sides is that my hair is most dense in that area, approx 150 cm2.

Notgoing2gobald, Thanks for the kind words. To go from a nw6 to what I have now is incredible for me. I never dreamed of ever having this much hair again in my thirties, I spent most of my twenties hiding under a cap. It has changed my life and has given me the confidence to really start enjoying life to the full.

I do like the buzz cut, now I have the hairline to frame my face, and it would be nice to have it this way in the summer. I am going to see how the scar looks in a few months time once the shock-loss grows back and the redness and staple marks fade. The scar seems to have closed better this time around ,so I may be able to buzz to a 2 grade without it noticing.

Bill, thanks man and good to see you are a mod now. You have been a great help to me and thousands more over the years, keep up the good work.

Nn, I think he must of been smoking something when he said that !!

Rick, I have changed back to Proscar after an unsuccessful year of taking Avodart.

Flyby, Lol at the balloon in your head, mind you don't float off though !!

I am going to grow it out now to hide the scar. I am fed up with wearing a cap again for the first time in ages, and to think I couldn't be seen without it back in the day.

  9. I am 2 weeks post op from my second ht with Dr Hasson. I reieved 3521 grafts of which 1700 were placed into my hairline and the rest to the crown.

My first ht with Dr Hasson was for 7761 grafts making a total of 11282 grafts.

I have not posted for a while on here so I have included my 1 year progress pics from my first ht.

  10. Hi guys, I have updated my photo album with 9 Months progress pics. I am really pleased with the way things are going so far. It seems to be at the thickening stage now.

Crown still has a little way to go, hoping to see more growth here in the next 3 months.

    Good growing to you all.
