Thank you Dr Feller and staff

I have just returned home from Dr Feller in New York where i had a surgery with him of 2768 grafts. I am so happy that after much research and time i went with Dr Feller. I had been very concerned about it and i am sure if you read many of the emails back and forth to Spex some would certainly classify me as hyper neurotic. I just needed to be sure that i was making the right decision as i am sure many can relate it is one of the biggest decisions of my life.

Initially i was dead set on FUE but after further research realised that in order to give myself the best chance of using all my donor area effectively strip was a much better way to go. I was very worried about having strip surgery though and got myself worked up into quite a state on a few occasion one being Dr Fellers office. I had already cancelled my session 3 times due to the amount of worry i was going through as just couldn't commit to the thought of surgery even after 2 years research. Dr Feller was nothing but amazing i must say and even in his office with everyone at the ready to perform my session he told me to take all the time i needed and even if i wanted to cancel he was happy for me to do so as he did not want me to do anything i wasn't ready for. He calmed me down remarkably i must say and after 30 min's to collect my thoughts and a great chat with Dr Feller i decided that i was ready and although i was being somewhat over cautious i knew deep down i was in the right place.

The surgery couldn't have gone better and looking back i honestly was worrying about nothing. The first numbing shots were all i felt and to give credit to Feller and his great staff they talked to me there entire time which really helped keep my mind in a favourable place. After dinner and a movie and several what can only be described as the longest hours of my life i was all done and Feller and his staff were nothing short of fantastic. I can not thank them enough for all their care given to me as i appreciate i was some what of a high maintenance case to say the least.

I returned back to the UK on Friday and have just had the staples removed by my local nurse and she couldn't get over how amazing the scar and the recipient area looked. She remarked on how good the scar looked and that she had seen a few hair transplants and non had looked anything like this one. I took that as a good thing. Returning back home has never felt so good i must say and i have returned with a real new outlook. The entire trip was something of a new chapter in my life and i am really up beat about my hair now as i know i have done the best thing i could have done by getting a transplant by the very best. I know there is a great deal of talk regarding the need to travel to the other side of the world for a transplant but off the back of what i just experienced i have to agree as it couldn't have gone any better for me and i am so glad i finally plucked up the courage to do it.

To anyone considering a transplant all i can say is that i have not 1 regret as it was so much easier than i thought it was going to be and that given my time again i would have gone much sooner after now experiencing it. I put it off for so long and after the great experience i just had i wish i hadn't.

A special thanks must go to my friend Spex for all the patience he had with me and for meeting me on more than one occasion to go through all my concerns. You are regarded very highly at Fellers office spex as i am sure you know as even a US guy i met there had nothing but praise for you as he mentioned you had been just as helpful to him. I owe you spex.

I feel so much better for sharing this with you all and i hope that it helps even one person as without this particular forum i would have still been in the dark on what actually is out there for guys in our situation.

Spex feel free to add any pictures of my surgery but please block out my face

Congratulations on your surgery !!

I second a previous poster's question : where did you get your staples removed?

I went to my GP but he said he did not have the time to remove the sutures!! ( it was a tricho closure so he wasnt used to this) so he sent me to

Accident & Emergency!!!!
