Senior Member Bleachcola12 Posted August 9, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted August 9, 2008 I know that skilled surgeons can pack around 40 graphs per sq cm but, when we all had our old hair back, how many follicles per sq cm did our native hair have? Bill - Seemiller
Bleachcola, Some surgeons can densely pack up to 70 and even 80 follicular units per square cm when using ultra refined blades, smaller grafts, and magnification. But not every patient is a candidate for such high densities - this depends on their level of hair loss, available donor hair supply, and hair and scalp characteristics. The average natural hair density is approximately 80 follicular units per square CM. Typically half the natural hair density will make for a decent illusion of density and hold up in most lights and angles. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Bill
