Choi Nhi Clinic Athens...Anyone know it?

Please dont go anywere near Malcolm Mendelsohn at NHI Greece or former company DHI Athens . I have a large scar from the surgery I recieved there ( 6 inches by 2 inches ) and the grafts did not go . Bill Rassman at NHI Clinics USA or Bernstien medical New York are the world leaders , you only have a small amount of donor hair therefore it is vital you get it right ! . The Choi is not as accurate as a skilled surgeons hand and it is my Independent and ex patients opinion , any success at NHI Greece is down to more luck than skill and expertise . Feel free to email me for Photos of the scars I still have from NHI, avoid them , get on a plane to New York incorporate your transplant into a short break holiday do not risk any UK Clinic it is a sad fact that the UK is light years behind the states , unfortunatly thats the situation for the forseeable future .

What a load of bollox. I had a consult with M Mendlesohn a few years back and the alarm bells started ringing immediately. I have heard nothing positive about this clinic or the choi method. Here is the blurb from their website: 'The Choi Implanter method of hair restoration surgery is internationally accepted as the gold standard in the treatment of premature hair loss'. If this is the case, then why are other clinics not using it?

Despite top clinics, and in in fact most of the clinics in the world suggesting that it is wise to wait at least a year for results, here we have 2 guys who have a full head of hair after 6 months. Fantastic- then where are these guy's photos?

I went to DHI in Greece too, and now I get mistaken for a lion I have so much hair, unfortunately i'm often chased by zoo keepers and spend most of my time on tranquillisers while waking up behind bars

Im not sure whos placing these comments, must be a very jealous competitor, I had a procedure last July 2009 and i am so happy with NHI, MY HAIR IS GREAT NOW, I have another 6 months of growth, and thank god they took me out of one of these units, toupes from Advance studios and i now wash my own hair everyday now - I HAD THE FULL 6000 HAIRS at NHI and both Malcolm and Jeff are very genuine people with a great product, they only use one surgeon in Athens and I have personally seen all the results with guys in person, I didnt take it lightly because talk is cheap,and you cant see my scar and i havent been able to find anyone elses scar either, i seen a lot of people first before i had it done, i have never seen a bad example yet, and NHI are now guaranteeing their work.

 

Their seems to be a bit of a witch hunt at moment because NHI in Athens are bringing in big results - I have also heard someone bad mouthing Jeff over his american smooth accent, get over it, hes a nice guy and someone is now chastising someone over their accent?? when you dont even know the guy, as for malcolm doing a consult in the back of a car- In my experience the people i met are very secretive over their hair transplant and not all of them want people to know, none of the people closest to me know, so maybe thats what someone requested, as long as the result is right, give people what they want , this is a bad way to get business though, i have seen NHI@S office in the UK , but mostly they use top hotels at a central point and the clinic that they use in Athens is very nice, anyway good luck to all whoever you go with, If you want to go with NHI ask NHI to see one of their past UK patients, that doesnt lie

Hi I've never posted on this site before but after reading some of the comments about nhi I've decided to tell you what I think.I'm a guy in my thirties into sport going out looking good appearance is everything so after a lot of research I decided to have a procedure with nhi in athens in august 2006 using the choi method.I spoke with malcolm mendelsohn and he convinced me that the choi method was the bee all and end all would give me fantastic results and the scar from the strip would gradually subside over time well all I can say is I had a mega session with nhi it cost me over ??5000 and it is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen(the chap who said they are a cowboy outfit has it spot on)a transplant should be all about artistry and skill of placement mine is the biggest mess you will ever see its not worth ??5 let alone ??5000.I've seen a few clinics in london(I wouldn't have a procedure in england because I don't think any of the clinics are upto the job)but I just wanted to confirm how many hairs I have on my head and after a digi scope test the answer came back about 1500 hairs and believe me that is at a push.I would say more like 500 its a joke a load of rubbish and to the guy who thinks he's scar is disappearing after three months well I've got a scar from ear to ear which I was told would disappear within three to four months and two and a half years later its still there so to anyone who is thinking of having strip surgery using the choi method I would say don't go there I mean I'm no expert but I would say unless you're prepared for people to constantly ask you where the scar came from and to have it for the rest of your life I really wouldn't go there seriously use nhi at your peril they only care about money not helping clients they're not interested in putting work right or giving you some or all of your money back.I have been talking to a lawyer and am seriously thinking about taking action against them for this excuse of a hair transplant the stress and trauma has been massive but oddball malcolm mendelsohn doesn't care I once asked what he does if clients complain and he said I don't care I live on the side of a mountain with my dogs that sums the guy up he's a very strange bloke the american guy jeffs allright but all in all I would say steer well clear of nhi athens they don't even have a clinic in england so how big are they really oh and when I complained about the crap job nhi had done jeff said no one had ever complained about the surgeons work before which everyone knows is rubbish because 50% to 60% of transplants need to be redone plus I've now seen the fallout on this site believe me don't use nhi athens because you will be disappoined and out of pocket don't say I have warned you.

I wouldnt use any clinic in Greece to be honest,they are useless at HT and dont have any laws to protect you the consumer and patient and thats why they set up their business there as its cheap and you can BUTCHER PEOPLE AND get away with it,be warned!!!!!.

Ej thanks for your kind words and info I think your right there would be a queue of people waiting to do malcolm mendelsohn in.I actually had a massive arguement with him via email and told him if I was ever in greece again(which I won't be)I would like to meet him face to face I may even turn up at one of their consultations at the marriot in london and tell people what a load of rubbish nhi are(all you need to do is look at my hair I've been told I didn't have the donor hair available in the first place for a mega session)three seperate clinics have told me that.Its plain obvious nhi aren't interested in their clients they're just interested in money full stop and when people save long and hard for a long time only to get joke results its very annoying(and they're not interested in you at all when you complain about the procedure)they take ages to get back to you they fob you off with rubbish(jeff even got annoyed with me and tried to blame me)so I sent him some pictures of the surgeons handy work and he said photos lie and are deceptive its just a joke.I believe there are probably thousands of dissatisfied clients of nhi athens any professional company worth they're salt would offer to put the work right or give you a full or partial refund because they don't want bad publicity(I tried both and got nowhere with nhi)I also now realise I paid malcome mendelsohn ??5250 personally rather than nhi(I paid the full amount on my card before I flew out there in august 2006)so my greek lawyer is looking at that because I might have to take action against him rather than nhi themselves(I thought he just worked for the company)but when I asked jeff who was at the top of the company because I wanted to talk to them he told me malcolm was the owner(also can anyone tell me if there is any connection between nhi and dhi athens or dhi in london or are they seperate companies)I would also say a huge majority of their clients are english(as they come over quite a few times a year for consults)so all in all malcolm and his chums must be making an absolute fortune out of us english guys because the ??5000 I paid was just for the top jeff even had the gall to say to me come and see us in london in january 2009 and we'll see what we can do(he kept saying he was on my side which was laughable)I said are you going to put the top right and his answer was well from our records you were due to come back a year later to have the top infilled and the back done(I said jeff that was nhi's take on the situation not mine)who in their right mind is going to go back to a company like nhi who has performed the most disgraceful hair transplant you have ever seen(believe me its bad)from my point of view I would have wanted them to put the top right(for free of course)untill I even considered saving my hard earned money to have the back done(they want 12k off you they think money grows on trees)its like buying a pair of jeans in a shop finding they've got a hole in them when you get home taking them back and being refused a refund I don't think you'd be going back again.To be honest I made a mistake it was my first procedure and I thought I'd done my homework but nhi aren't genuine they hide behind the fact that youre due to go back a year later to have the back done and infill the top thats where they catch you but you don't want the top infilled a year later you want it done properly the first time thats where they're very unscrupulous.I did a lot of research before I flew to athens I knew no clinic in england could give me what I wanted(if I had the money I would have flown to dubai with alvi armani because their work is very impressive or what I've seen of it is)I just thought nhi offered a mega session for the money I had so decided to go with them and all I can say is its left me really annoyed their customer service is not existant sure their going to have a few happy clients but the majority are going to be unhappy jeff told me doctor fotis tsunis is a really proud man and no one has ever complained about his work well I'll let you make your own mind up on that one because I was less than pleased with what he did to me thanks again ej all the best cfcbloke 1212.

Why not post it so that everbody can see it? If you show clear before and after pictures posters will give you there honest opinion. Although I assist H&W with translation I don't consider myself a competitor.If you read my post you will see that I have alot of nice things to say about other doctors as well as giving advice to some posters about why I would recommend the doctors.

Anybody who has no problem with travelling and researchs the internet can come up with a good decision on there own.

It sounds like your up for the fight ! Get your pictures on this site , you may get some positive feedback about what can be done , the Coalition Drs are pretty much used to us English " Repair Patients " .

 

I would defo turn up at one of there London meetings go into the find option on this site and print off all material relating to NHI and Malcolm Mendelsohn print it off and copy it and hand it out to absolutly everyone at the hotel highlite this sites web address that way you will be helping lots of other people .

Mendelsohn used to live In Manchester when I got done at Athens 10 years ago now ! I turned up at his door one day and got "some " money back !!

You mention a Greek Lawyer be careful you dont spend on legal fees what could be spent on a repair job most top docs cost around $10,000 I know the pound is not that good around ??7000 at the moment but it may be of more benefit just to warn others away from NHI rather than pursue your costs = ( time ? result ? unknown ). I know this is a bitter pill to swallow .

Re Alvi Armani check out this site I cant stress that enough !!! see what other patients are saying, check out the pictures look in the find options .

 

Mendelsohn used to work for DHI in Athens with a Dr Santos I think they are one of and much of the same ( Choi Method Gold Standard Bull ) merely being associated in any way to Mendelsohn would make me run a mile .

I hope you get some good sound advice from this site I know that I have , I have had some fantastic Info from Surgeons , Reps , alike do not despair something can be done !

Ej the lawyers in greece tend to do things more on a contingency basis and the one whose looking into things for me is doing it on a no win no fee basis(I can't afford the fees and I can't afford to lose so I have to be 100% sure I have a very strong case which I am)It took me a long time to find someone but because the procedure took place in greece I have to use someone who specialises in greek law and is based there as well.As for being up for the fight definately I'm a libran and hate seeing people ripped off especially by people who don't care about they're clients(its like we've got their money onto the next mug)and of course they hate people complaining because in their eyes they're never wrong well I will either be taking action against mendelsohn or nhi(either or)this procedure was a one off thing for me and took me a long time to get the money together(of course they don't care about that)and I wouldn't be able to afford another procedure anytime soon thats why I want my money back(all of it plus damages for incompetent work and stress and trauma suffered)but untill then I won't be able to look at having anymore work done but to be honest I wouldn't know who to go to theres so many sharks in this game(I also read a bit of stuff on alvi armani which was interesting)again they all feed you the same crap and spin because they want your money(we must have mugs printed on our foreheads)and untill someone takes a stand against these amateurs it will keep happening(I actually think a load of people from this site who have been ripped off by nhi should get together a load of photos literature etc etc and turn up at one of their consults at the marriot hotel in london)because without a lot of their british clients they're nothing and word spreads really quickly it would definately damage malcolms business because like I said he and his network of pals must be making a fortune.You know I've been desperate to have my hair done for years(to them its a business to us its everything and these hair clinics should remember that)who knows what happens next my greek lawyer is working on things which could take a long time I've read a lot of good stuff on this site and looked at some of the coalition surgeons in america so we'll just have to see what happens my hairs cropped at the moment(I tend to wear it in a grade one a lot)problem is the scar is so noticeable but I might post a picture of the scar over the next few days(the two and a half year scar from ear to ear)its never gone away its narrowed a bit but you can see it just as much as when I had the procedure done.I spoke to a surgeon in london recently and he laughed when I told him what nhi said about the scar his reply was my dad had strip surgery 25 years ago and the scar ain't going to go away that sums up strip surgery really and nhi's spiel all they want is your money we all know that hopefully I'll get my hair sorted in the future but its a very expensive business when you pay hard earned money for rubbish(my mates a top plastic surgeon in london and he said he might be able to find someone for me where I pay on a monthly basis)it depends where it is and who it is but ej if I had the money I'd do it again I wouldn't let what happened with nhi put me off I'd just be more aware of the rip off merchants in the game(of which there are many)anyway all the best mate cfcbloke 1212.

In short, you should stay away from NHI and instead continue to research HT's to find a world class physician. As Bill said, the best place to begin is by familiarising yourself with the coalition Drs recommended on this site. They have the reputation as the top HT surgeons in the world which is backed up with extensive patient recommendations and pictures.

Bit of an old post, but have to comment that malcom Mendlesohn is a c u next tuesday, and so is tha American guy Jeff that works for him.

 

I didnt have a procedure with them, but I did go to Athens, got all the way to the clinic, then I told them I didnt trust them and I was going home, they didnt like that but I said tuff shit and I left.
