Senior Member omviki Posted August 23, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted August 23, 2008 Have anyone noticed their ears after hair transplant? Top portion of my ear (helix) which is close to the sideburn is sticking out (away from head). Everyone noticed in my family this type of change. I think this is because of the sutures at the donor site and once sutures are removed ears will be back to normal. #1 HT by Dr. Rahal on 08-21-08 Strip 26.6 cm Total 4308 grafts -1116 single grafts -2287 double grafts -898 triple grafts -7 quad grafts Total Hairs: 8412 Medications: Minoxidil 5% Finasteride 1 mg daily

Regular Member kman Posted August 23, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 23, 2008 Hey Omviki, Since you just had your transplant 2 days ago I think what you're experiencing is typical post op swelling. I experienced something similar with my ears on the 3rd day post op. The swelling and ear "sticking out" should subside in a few days. All the best. Regular Member ALDO Posted August 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted August 24, 2008 It's just from the swelling and you will back to normal in a week or so. My swelling was pretty bad. Don't stress it at all.
Dr. Timothy Carman
omviki; As per the kman and ALDO, in all likelihood this is due to post-operative swelling, and should resolve over the next few days. Senior Member Smoothy Posted August 28, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted August 28, 2008 Heard of this and underlying swelling is cause. Take your meds and use icepack on the area to help. Will go back to normal. SMOOTHY Dr Shapiro Propecia/Rogaine xtra MSM/Saw Pallmetto/Zinc Nioxin Shampoo line Zrii 3oz a day

Regular Member Msb426 Posted October 15, 2022 Regular Member Share Posted October 15, 2022 I had this exact same thing. Red tips of wars and they hung down a little at top and were flatter before. I really hope they go back to flat. I’m day 3 post surgery.

Moderators Al - Moderator Posted January 6, 2023 Moderators Share Posted January 6, 2023 A few days after surgery your head is going to be swollen, so you are not going to look right. There is nothing to worry about. It will all go back to normal shortly. 1 Al Forum Moderator (formerly BeHappy) I am a forum moderator for hairrestorationnetwork.com.
