Regular Member La La Land Hair Posted May 24, 2008 Regular Member Share Posted May 24, 2008 I'm noticing lots of blog pics where people's recipient areas are trimmed very short for surgery. Is this always neccessary? I though good doctors didn't need to do this? (HT's in question were done by Shapiro, Siporin) I gotta say that scares the F out of me. Don't think I could go around with my head shaved down like that. Check out My Hair Loss WebLog Norwood Class 4 (I think) Propecia (since '95 or so) Rogaine (since '93 or so) One HT

Senior Member Dr. Ricardo Mejia Posted May 24, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted May 24, 2008 Not all doctors do this. It is an option in my practice. However, I do prefer to have a shaven recipient site because it does help make the process go faster and more efficiently.
