Stopped minox 5%: Need recommendations for medications

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I stopped applying Minox 5% and am looking for something the next step up in strength.

Is the answer:

Minox 5% + tretinoin?

Minox + Azaleic acid?

Some concentration of minox higher than 5% on its own? (Note: I tried some of the high concentration stuff from Dr. Lee and it was a miserable sandy paste).

What would you say is the best, most economical way to step it up a notch.

Thanks.

Threadbare,

First of all, why would you discontinue minoxidil without having its' replacement "in hand" ready to go for application the very next day? Minoxidil is not a medication that you can just come on and go off on a whim. To reap any benefits you must use it consistently.

Next, for how long did you use the 5%? The reason I ask is that from your post it seems that you are "treatment hopping" a bit. Let me be the first to tell you that that is the absolute worst thing that you can do. Give your medication time to work.
