How to take Finesteride 5mg ?

I am planning to start on Finesteride 5mg Generics as propecia is too expensive, pls. suggest how to take this medicine and will it accelerate the hair fall in the beginning ?

If you've responded well to Propecia, using a pill splitter or kitchen knife to divide generic finasteride tablets down into 1.25 mg fourths should work out fine for you. You can also cut the pills into fifths to resume the standard 1 mg dosage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UUjPNTr9eM.

 

If you're a first-time finasteride user, there's a chance it could initially induce a shedding phase.

I am a first-time finasteride user....have one more question ...after cutting 5 mg into 4 pieces of 1.25 mg ..should I take 1.25 mg daily ? or skip 1 dose after 4 doses ?

Dosage regimen will vary from patient to patient and can be adjusted. Some guys take it daily; others might choose to try it every other day, or 2 times a week in certain cases. What does your doctor recommend?
