Mac1958
I've noticed that Bosley isn't exactly adored by many of their clients here. Would Medical Hair Restoration (the company with former baseball star Wade Boggs doing endorsements) fall into the same cookie-cutter, best-to-avoid category? The MHR doc in Denver is Dr. Tania Pauls. One doctor I've seen good things about in Denver is Dr. Jim Harris. Any input on him?

Senior Member Mp96 Posted December 3, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 3, 2008 I have only heard negative outcomes on both things you asked. Stay away and go to a top doc!! You should be able to find a ethical clinic on this forum.. I wish you luck!!
Senior Member wantego Posted December 3, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 3, 2008 I think I read somewhere that Bosley was buying MHR around a year ago. I dont know if it went through or not though. 4374 grafts-7/2/2008-Dr Rahal 485 singles 2336 doubles 1526 triples 16 quads 9809 total hairs
Senior Member hairthere Posted December 4, 2008 Senior Member Share Posted December 4, 2008 I just don't get why anyone would consider ANY chain place when you can go to a top doctor i.e., feller, h&w, shapiro for less money (including travel fees), personalized service and an almost guaranteed excellent result. but to answer your question, yes, they are equally as risky. Regular Member Brian in KC Posted January 19, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted January 19, 2009 They are now one in the same and as stated already, go to a Dr not a transplant mill. Some of their Drs including Dr Bosley are quite skilled, but their prices and tactics leave alot to be desired.
Senior Member lorenzo Posted January 19, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted January 19, 2009 I think it is possible to get a good transplant with either clinic the only problem is I don't believe it is as consistant as the top clinics. In a big chain you are only good as your worst doctor. Whenever you franchise anything you have a tendacy to lose quality and lose focus of what the your original object is. In the hair transplant industry there is almost no room for error so the bigger you are the less you can control quality. Plus most big chains are more interested in $$$$$$$$$$ than they are quality.
