OTC sleep Medications and HT

Recommended Posts

Those are mild tranquilizing/sedating drugs, combined into cold medications. They shouldn't be a problem. OTC is a big hint that they're quite harmless, (unless you plan to mix a few other things together and make meth icon_wink.gif )

Do you plan to get a cold after having a HT? icon_wink.gif

take care...

omy,

I would be careful about combining commonly prescribed post-operative pain medications like Hydrocodone (Vicodin) with over-the-counter sleep aids like Tylenol PM, since both contain acetaminophen. Something like "Simply Sleep" just has diphenhydramine. Never hurts to check with your doctor, though.

The following excerpt was taken from Bernstein Medical's Post-op Instructions:

The most important medication to use when trying to sleep is the pain medication; be certain that the pain is under control before using any additional sleeping medication, as the additional pill will often not be necessary.

Best,
