I just posted a question about this 2 weeks ago

follow whatever your doctor says

my doctor wanted me to have the sutures in 21 days, so I had mine in for 21 days

Staples you have to have them out within 7-10 days, while Sutures you can have them in longer

Wow, I am suprised a doctor would wait so long to take out the sutures. I took mine out at 7 days (per Dr. Alexander's orders).

I work as a registered nurse and I can tell you that the norm in the hospital to take out a patients sutures post-op is 7 - 10 days (of course depends on the surgery).

But it all depends on what your physician orders -- follow their orders.

I removed my staples at 15 days after my second surgery.
