Regular Member jbkg Posted May 5, 2009 Regular Member Share Posted May 5, 2009 hello guys. i know there are many topics about graft removal but i still have a question. i had a bad h.t. in my corners. the result is: 1)low density 2)3 and 2 hair/grafts 3)the placement is too low. in addition the area until mid scalp is quite thin. my question is: when grafts are removed from a specific area, can NEW grafts be placed to this area? (i don't mean the grafts that have beeen removed). OR when grafts are removed from a specific area ,the area needs time to heal and the h.t. should be done some months later. correct me if i am wrong but i think some patients had some grafts removed and in the same session the doctor placed new grafts in the area where the old grafts were. guys i am very very sorry for my english . jbkg

Senior Member kaounis Posted May 5, 2009 Senior Member Share Posted May 5, 2009 Depending on how low the grafts are, sometimes they don't need to be removed at all...What a surgeon usually does is place graft around, in front, and inbetween...hiding the old grafts and increasing the density at the same time..Know, if the grafts need to be removed, usually the Dr. will first remove the grafts,(FUE), than stick and place them elsewhere...Once this is done a regular strip or fue procedure can than be done imidiately afterwards. The fue frafts don't need to be sutered because the hole is quite small and rarly leaves any scarring at all...Yiasou.. Just a thought from the peanut gallery...
