Senior Member CEO_of_DHT Posted Friday at 02:52 PM Senior Member Posted Friday at 02:52 PM (edited) Hi guys, does anyone have experience in using topicals while also using a hair system? Doesn't necessarily have to happen at the same time (as in being able to wear the system while having topicals applied), but it would be a great feature of course. The topicals will be alcohol-based liquids (I could imagine that gels would be more compatible with a hair system): Finasteride 6 hours Minoxidil 4 hours (hard to get a prescription for the oral form) Alfatradiol (not available in oral form) The area to be covered in my case is only my ca. NW 6 crown of ca. 80 - 100 cm². It looks like a partial hair system on the crown could be a good interim solution, while waiting until medication shows an effect. I'm looking for clues which hair system configuration could make sense for this and what it would cost me approximately. Regular Member Falling Posted Saturday at 01:52 AM Regular Member Posted Saturday at 01:52 AM I'm not sure if a partial hair system would work for you, as your native hair is not too dense. But if you decide to go for it, the best approach in my opinion would be using a weak adhesive, so that you can remove the hair system easily every day. Hair systems are meant to be glued to your scalp for days or even weeks, and that's definitely not good for your hair. But with this method you'd only have it on for as long as you're away from home Just be aware that it can come off easily if someone pulls your hair. 1
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted Saturday at 10:42 AM Valued Contributor Posted Saturday at 10:42 AM I wore a hair system for over twenty years @CEO_of_DHT. To be honest you would have to shave your head if you go down this path (with the amount of hair you have). It becomes incredibly uncomfortable and sweaty otherwise. Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted Saturday at 11:37 AM Valued Contributor Posted Saturday at 11:37 AM You can research buying cheap hair pieces online and create a shape that will suit the area you are wanting to cover. I think this is a better option than spending big money on a piece that will be uncomfortable to wear. Also time goes fast and your transplant will have grown out before you know it. Where did 2024 go??? All the best! 👍 1 GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
