Senior Member Janna Posted March 10, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 10, 2010 This patient had his ht surgery with Dr. Ron Shapiro in July 2004. He is currently 42 and feels his hair loss has stabilized. His goal at this point is to thicken his hairline and bring it down a little. With this patient on ht meds and taking age and degree of hair loss into consideration, Dr. Ron feels comfortable scheduling another session to thicken and lower his hairline. I'm posting side by side pics of pre-op and post op (almost 6 years later) with his hair dampened, along with various angles with dry hair. All post op pics were taken today. Senior Member hdude46 Posted March 10, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 10, 2010 Very cool. Janna what's the difference between this patient and a patient like this?: http://hair-restoration-info.c...21087683/m/133104805 Was it a matter of goals? donor availability? I'm curious b/c it would seem that the patient in this case had far less hair loss in addition to being a few yrs older than the patient in the case I linked who received more graphs (I know he had a larger area to cover) and a bit more aggressive hairline. Thanks Janna!
Senior Member M1A1 Posted March 10, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 10, 2010 Janna, So how many grafts were transplanted in total? Nice improvement too... Thanks, My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Ron Shapiro
Senior Member Janna Posted March 10, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 10, 2010 M1A1, 2052 Grafts/3881 Hairs Good to hear from you. Hope you're doing well. hdude, The patient in the link came in with very different goals than above patient. And he really had twice as much recipient area to cover. It also didn't hurt that he had very, very good donor laxity. Thanks Janna, I figured considering his age this patient wanted a bit more subtle of a change. It goes w/o saying it looks great as usual.
Senior Member aaron1234 Posted March 11, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2010 Incredible results. The hairline is completely natural. I don't think another procedure is that necessary, but when you got SMG doing your hairline, why the heck not?!? Senior Member M1A1 Posted March 11, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2010 Janna, Maybe, I am just having a senior moment at a young age. So this patient has had only one procedure with a total of 2052 grafts-am I reading this right??? It's just that the pictures looks as if he has had two procedures. Either way his end result thus far looks awesome. I am doing very well- I beleive the hair growth is starting to kick in high gear at week 26...And the folliculitis has stabilized... Feel free to read my updated blog and let me know what you think. Thanks, My Hair Loss Website - Hair Transplant with Dr. Ron Shapiro
Senior Member M1A1 Posted March 11, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2010 Janna, I think I see NOW...One shot shows him with his hair messed up and the other shows it in the normal way he wears it-is that correct? Senior Member Severn Posted March 11, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2010 I know what you are thinking M1A1. The very last pic look a post op shot but I think he just has it wetted down. The plan is to add more in a second procedure shortly. (IMO) My Hair Loss Web Site - Dr. Ron Shapiro
Senior Member Janna Posted March 11, 2010 Author Senior Member Share Posted March 11, 2010 I'm glad your folliculitis is contained at the moment. You've had quite the time of it. I remember you having to reschedule your surgery with us because of it. Hope you're done dealing with it for good now. It looks like you're coming along great. Thanks for posting updates of your progress with everyone. The pictures on this result is after one surgery of 2052 grafts. The first four pics of side by side shots are of "before" with patient's hair wet and the pic next to it is "after" with patient's hair wet. The remaining pics (except for last one) below the side by sides are of patient's "after" with his hair dry. I'll have to go back to labeling each pic. Senior Member M1A1 Posted March 14, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 14, 2010 Janna, That makes two of us... Now back to this patient. This may sound like an off beat question, but, how would you go about lowering his hairline? Again, his results look great... Senior Member orangehair Posted March 16, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted March 16, 2010 janna....another enlightening result....this one treatment really stands on its own, especially paired with the medical therapy....Dr. Ron's work even almost 5 years ago really natural with very good density....i could see him doing a moderate lowering of the hair line and some rebuilding of the temple areas but as it is looks great.
