Hi there, I have been contemplating having a transplant for the past few years. Since early 30's I've had a very pronounced baldness specially in the crown and temples. For the past 2 years I've been on dudasteride and minoxidil which helped specially in the donor area.

I always had an eye for Turkey but for the past few years, Brazil seems to be catching up and lots of good surgeons are here. Since I am in Brazil, having talented surgeons here helped me to go for it.

After much researching, one friend recommend me Dra Manuela Morello. She is in Minas Gerais but one week every month she does surgeries at my state(Espírito Santo). I started talking with her team 4 months ago and she had a vacancy for this week, so I booked it, sent the pictures and met her one day before the surgery where she cleared my doubts, explained the process and made the marks on my head and agreed with me to be back in the next day at 7am.

On the next day, I arrived 7am in a very fancy and clean hospital and I was greeted by her team which took me to change my clothes and be sedated, I was sleeping for the whole process which made it very comfortable as when I woke up it was already done.

These are the pictures minutes after the procedure:

And these are 48h since it's finished:

Overall, I am going to say this was a nice experience. The doctor was very caring and friendly, her team as well.

The post op has been so easy, I haven't had any pain or discomfort and I think it's healing nicely.

Since I've just discovered this board today, I apologize in advance if I am breaking any rules. I will keep posting the progress update in here if that's ok?

Feel free to ask any questions and make comments if this looks promising or not. Thank you!

Hi everyone, today is the 7th day since I had my surgery.

Recovering is still going smoothly. However, it's super warm and humid here in Brazil this week, and I noticed that if I start to sweat or my room gets warm, my donor area gets really itchy. I am on AC 24/7. If I had known the recovery would be that easy, I think I would have done it earlier. Probably in the cooler months, though, since where I live we don't have winters.

Here are some pictures. Could you kindly let me know how this looks on the 7th day? I will keep updating this thread often so feel free to comment if you like. Thank you!

My itchyness always lasts for months after my procedures. It's annoying.

Ugh, what do you do to make it better? I was advised by my doctor to use thermal water, but sometimes the itchiness gets out of control 😆

Hey, just a quick update from day 9(day 10 from surgery, but I heard surgery day is day 0).

I've removed the scabs yesterday and I had some concerns regarding the hairline being a tad too high. I also think that this may be due to the sunscreen I used and maybe the small hairs from there are already gone, idk.

What do you think?

Recovering was a pretty smooth, I think now I am back to normal life and I have to wait for it shed and grow again. My next update will be on 1 month mark.

12 days quick update. Now my hair grew a little, I am happy with the hairline. Not sure what you guys think though. I am getting mentally ready for looking like a Gollum for a while 🤭IMG-20241209-WA0001.thumb.jpg.8add6f2b2473cc28ca1a9fb3c287ca30.jpg20241209_092727.thumb.jpg.9acbb2e52309cbea926bd683b5e275a1.jpgIMG-20241209-WA0009.thumb.jpg.471d32062d3743f4f47e675c4e916b8c.jpgIMG-20241209-WA0005.thumb.jpg.f632d218d531920bca4874a070ec801d.jpgIMG-20241209-WA0011.thumb.jpg.b90f257ea41b36215d113af8052815d4.jpgIMG-20241209-WA0013.thumb.jpg.58e15d2dfb4b25d9458542917595f6a2.jpgIMG-20241209-WA0015.thumb.jpg.138ed0dbd76ce586b70a86861c03a4da.jpgIMG-20241209-WA0017.thumb.jpg.f0ab14d58e4a7d640216a9f627ea9bff.jpg
