Here is my hair before ht and post-surgery picture. To give you an idea on how they did the extractions.

I wouldn’t say “awful”. Most people would never really notice anything. Hair transplants and tight fades are an uneasy marriage even in the best circumstances, but especially if the extractions were less than stellar.

You could always look to do a little bit of strategic donor restocking using beard hair if it really bothered you.

I believe you may have something booked with Dr Ratchathorn? Have you discussed this with her?

Your hair before looked like it was previously harvested. I don’t see much of a difference in all honesty.3DF6F607-FFEF-4896-B21B-F51791486FD6.jpeg

A bit off topic, but I think skin fade is just a fashion statement and an illusion of beauty. In general, if one grows the sides and back by 0.5-1cm with the same haircut, it will frame the face and head much better and look more balanced and natural. I say this as a person who used to get a skin fade every 2 weeks for more than 15 years.

BTW, dizzydap, I'm sure nobody notices anything wrong with your head/hair. Maybe 1 person out of 100. It's not worth your worries in the life.

@Berba11  she said she has to check inperson which is impossible for me rn.(i live in canada). Also I have to mention I am in my early 20’s and my father is nw6-7.

So I paid for dr rahal’s consultation here to get a detailed assessment of him who I trust fully. After that I will have an idea of my donor capacity and my lifetime supply.

After that I might choose a fut surgery(in that case will go for hattingen or dr path) inorder to maximize my donor. So in the future I can have another fut which results in only one lineer scar. After that If I really need it I might do a last fue plus body hair (which I also can cover my fut scar with).

What yall think of my strategy? @Scalp Squad @Melvin- Admin @Sunshine09 @DrPradeep @hb111

First of all, it's good that you think strategically. You're on the right way.

I looked at your topics, and it seems you're on the medications less than a year. I'd say wait until at least the 2-year mark:

- You need to stabilize your hair loss. Period. This is your number 1 goal.

- Some of your hair may thicken up, some may regrow. And it definitely will! Oral medications are vitals for your hair. Given that you'll utilize your donor way better and much more effectively. This is your number 2 goal.

- You're too young, you need to wait as much as you can. The later you undergo the procedure, the better.

So after two years.. Let's assume you fully stabilized your hair loss and regrew some. And you can't wait for HT anymore.

I'd say if you're a candidate for FUT (it seems you are), there is a strategy to utilize FUT as many times as possible (with just one linear scar), and then go for FUE when your scalp laxity is exhausted. So you can maximize usage of the most juicy and DHT-resistant grafts. Given your age and level of hair loss, it's quite smart.

However, there is another strategy. You have an option to go to top-tier surgeons for FUE only, who can extract up to 60-80% of your donor hair (probably less given your past FUE session).

There is no universal right strategy, it varies from person to person, too many variables to answer. You have an opportunity to consult surgeons with different approaches. You mentioned Hattingen, Path, Rahal. Great choices. You can also speak with FUE only surgeons (Pitella, Zarev) and listen to their opinion on your donor's capabilities. So you'll have the full picture of what's possible.

In my view the strategy with FUTs first and FUEs after is better for you in the long term.

But before that, 2 years of meds. You'll thank yourself later.

Good luck.

Simple solution. Don't cut it that short again.
