Hair Transplant Doctor/Overall Advice

Recommended Posts

Hello, first off, I am grateful to have found this forum, as their is a plethora of information/results to gauge off of. I have been researching about getting a hair transplant for the last 6 months, and I am finally ready to take the final step and get it done this winter. So far, have narrowed it down to Bogota Hairlines (Already received consultation), Dr Cinik (Received Consultation), Sule Hair and CapelClinic in Mexico City (saw it via google but not enough info). I live about 1 hour and a half from Tijuana, so getting to Mexico would be ideal, but I am open to suggestions. Dr. Camacho from Bogota suggested I need 3k grafts, while Cinik said 2500-3k. I also got a consultation with Custodio, but the price range was not in my budget unfortunately. I'm used to having my hair long (shoulder length), so I want to to make sure I'm choosing the best surgeon/clinic for my needs and budget. Balding at the moment is only in the frontal temples/head, my crown and back of head have plenty. I just started taking Fin/Minoxidil too. I have attached photos for reference.

Thanks again to everyone and looking forward to comments/suggestions.

Welcome to the forum. I hope the community can guide you in your quest for recovering your hair. First off, I'd totally cross Dr Cinik off the list. (comment edited by moderator). Dr. Camacho seems to be a solid option. I am afraid I am not familiar with the other clinics/doctors you mentionned. You said that you used to wear your hair to shoulder length, but I think that when it comes to hair transplant surgeries you must always have very realistic expectations. There's almost never any guarantee that you could regain the same density that you once had

Out of your options, I would choose Bogota Hairlines. They seem to do good hairline work. However, I have seen unimpressive results from them when it comes to the crown area. But then again the crown area is one of the hardest areas of a hair transplant and you don't need anything done there. I actually did a in-person consult at Bogota Hairlines last November with Dr. Pareja. She was very ethical and nice to talk to. From what I've heard from others is that if you select the expensive package with Dr. Camacho, sometimes he isn't even in the room operating on you. It's probably better to select the package with Dr. Pareja or Dr. Carranza as both work with Dr. Camacho on patients. Let's say you picked the Camacho package but it was more Pareja operating on you.. why even pay the extra if you can pay less and still have Pareja operate on you with Carranza. Just my thought.

Have you looked into Dr. Nader in Reynosa, Mexico and Dr. Patty in Bangkok, Thailand?

thanks! And yes, I was thinking of Pareja/Carranza package. Where did you end up getting yours?

I have looked at Nader, but hear getting a reply and booking is difficult, and kinda want to do this by October/november this year.

have not looked into Patty, but will check them out.

I haven't done mine yet. Planning to do it in the fall with Nader, Patty or Laorwong (have an appt with all 3 lol). The reason I'm not doing Bogota Hairlines is because they require me to fully shave my head. The other 3 doctors have experience with only donor area shaved (recipient unshaven) and since I have a job that requires me to face a lot of people, I'm opting for the no shave.

In regards to Nader, he is hard to reach but he does have availability pop up on his calendar here and there. At this moment, he has a couple dates in August and one in September available.

He is not on the recommended surgeons list? Saw some people talking about him that he is a great doctor.

Interesting.. I have never heard of him but have took sometime to look at his work and seems to be pretty good. Thanks for the suggestion, I have contacted him for a consult.

Any tips on getting in touch with Nader?
