Min and Fin

Long time lurker

Just wondering if my thinking is correct

If I jumped on topical Minoxidil to regrow my hair, once regrown ( if it does regrow) can I stop taking min and just jump on fin 1mg to maintain the hair? So not reliant on min spray twice a day for life

I think most people will tell you no, hairs grown by minoxidil can only be sustained by minoxidil is what i hear often. However I don't see why it wouldn't be the case that if min helped promote anagen in a minaturized hair and brought it back to a certain level, that a 5ar like fin/dut wouldn't be able to help sustain its growth or keep it in that anagen phase. In any case, I still believe you're best off sticking to both.

They work differently, so while this could work, you may end up shedding the hair you gained from minoxidil and then start over gaining the hair back with finasteride. However since they do work differently you would probably do best using both rather than only one.
