Regular Member homebound Posted July 12 Regular Member Share Posted July 12 Hi all, I will be travelling to Doc Pittella's place in a few weeks. Any recommendations for neck pillows or other accessories that may easy the post surgery period? Thank you so much in advance. @YodaHead @Digg91
Regular Member YodaHead Posted July 12 Regular Member Share Posted July 12 1. Travel pillow - A simple travel pillow (photo attached) was super useful for me. This was not too high/broad from behind (unlike some fancy ones), hence, did not reach/touch my crown area when i would be alseep. It also had enough cushion to prevent my head touching anything when i let my neck rest on a chair head-rest. 2. At the hotel, you will need to sleep in a sofa-chair so just use the pillows to support your back and sides. Basically, make a nice and comfy throne for yourself. 3. If using ipad/iphone while resting (for me it was 5 long nights)—i used a stand to keep the ipad/iphone at eye level (i did not want to aggravate my existing neck issues). 4. I bought and tried couple other accessories but nothing else was useful. All the very best! 2 12.5k grafts with Dr. Felipe Pitella in Jan 2024. Senior Member HappyMan2021 Posted July 13 Senior Member Share Posted July 13 A simple travel pillow is literally all you need. You can sleep in a bed, on your back, put 1 or 2 pillows down + the travel pillow, then you are golden. The grafts are more or less secure after 72 hours Or you can sleep upright in a chair for 2 weeks with your hands handcuffed (to prevent scratching) so that you are 100000000000000000000000% sure nothing bad will happen. Your call 🤣
