Restarting Minoxidil after 6-7 months

Recommended Posts

Hello from Greece, kind of a new user in the forums!

I was using Minoxidil once per day, everyday for the last 10 years or so. At first results were good but with time the hair loss was progressing.

Unfortunately it is high likely that that the last batch I ordered online was not genuine, I also asked the manufacturer and they were unable to verify the product.
As a result, it is fair to say that for the last 6-7 months I am not taking any minoxidil at all.
Unfortunately it is very visible in my hair as well, for the last 3-4 months my hair is way worse to the point that I am thinking to shave my head.

Do you think that is worth restarting the application of Minoxodil again after all these months? I am afraid that the situation is irreversible now and the best I can accomplish is to maintain the existing few hairs that are left.

Does anyone had a similar experience or tried to restart Minoxidil after months?

If you get back on it, it's likely that you will gain back at least some of the recent loss.

If you are seriously think of just shaving your head then I suggest you try that and see if you are OK with it. That is the best way for you to determine what to do next. If it turns out that you are OK with the shaved head look then you are done and there is no need to spend any more time, money, and anxiety on hair loss. However if you don't like your head shaved then you'll know you need to stay on meds and maybe start saving up some money and researching hair transplants.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Think I will try to restart the treatment for a year or so to see if there is any improvement at all, hopefully results will come again!
