What can I expect and what is the possibility?

I am 29, have been slowly losing hair since I was 21, now presently diffusing into a NW 5 or possibly a NW 6.

Due to a phobia, I cannot take finasteride and minoxidil. I have (sadly) accepted I will lose my hair. 
 

This brings me to my question. 
 

Is it even remotely possible to get decent coverage from a transplant, with a NW2 or so hairline and decent coverage on top (to the point you don’t look like you’re balding) if you become a NW6? Would it be possible to just use 90% of your donor hair and additional facial/body hair ( if that is a thing ) - I would not be bothered if I had to have short hair on the sides and back.

I have a smaller framed head so that is going for me.

Is it possible, what could I expect? I just want to know if this is something I could strive for in the future when I am financially able to or if I should I just give in and accept my fate?

its either this

 

or spending with 50k-90k with dr. zarev in bulgaria, 50k with pittella in brazil (given you have sufficient beard and body hair grafts). you can check out their results on their instagram. eugenix is also famous for using bodyhair and saving high norwoods, despite lower costs i think the average norwood 6 patient still has to pay between 20k-30k

already an uphill battle for you. 

expect to be a NW3 or NW4 at best, and this is probably 3 surgeries total, and that is assuming the surgeries all go great.

you have strong genes for MPB unfortunately

this reason alone is enough for you to not get a hair transplant. I would even advise NW3's to not bother if you can't take meds. 

Especially with your balding history, you are likely to kill off any remaining scalp hair you have left.

can you describe your donor? do you know how many grafts you even have available?

facial hair and body hair can be used, but it is not as desired as actual donor hair from your head. The texture, shape, and quality will look like facial and body hair, when really you want it looking like normal head hair, etc. It is fine to use facial/body hair if needed, but it is never the gold or first choice.

can you post pictures? really need to see pictures and of your donor too to see what is even possible to dream about. 

Based on what you've said so far though, I think to get you to a NW2 or NW3 would be anywhere from 3-5 surgeries. Anywhere from $60-100k over a span of a few years if you go to a reputable doctor - and even then surgery is still a roll of the dice to a large extent. 

NW1 may be a bridge too far depending on your donor availability.

The SMP option would be great, actually! I currently have SMP now and when I first had it done it looked amazing in contrast with my hair slightly grown out (before it thinned further). 
 

thank you for sharing. I wonder how many grafts he had to achieve this. I will look into it further.

Happy to post some pictures. What do you think of the SMP option Mr peanut butter showed? It definitely won’t let me have the freedom of any hair style I want but it would be better than nothing and a clear step up from skin bald.

I think SMP would be a good and viable option for you if you go that route

Just keep in mind of course - for expectations - that SMP will give you the illusion of a very short buzz cut. It is a fine route for you if you are ok with that. Just don't expect "hair", as it literally is a tattoo.
