Thoughts on this newly published study from Machester University on the cause and a potential treatment of hair loss?

For the hair experts on this forum, what are your thoughts on this study published on June 20th by Manchester University?

Dr Purba added: "We're incredibly hopeful as we believe the activation of this pathway could play an important biological role in restricting hair growth in people with hair loss conditions, meaning that targeting it could lead to new treatments”.

Here is a link to the actual study, which I must admit is much way too technical for me to interpret. I was wondering what those with expert knowledge think - do you think it has it potential, or is it just another false dawn in the long history of false dawns regarding hair loss cures?

I'm not very good at interpreting some of these studies. With hair loss though, it seems like for the last 30 or 40 years, what seems to work in the lab never actually turns out to work in real life. Of course I hope something does come along that ends up being a cure, but I don't get too excited about these studies or tests anymore.
