Hello everyone,

I had my hair transplant done with Dr.Patty on Tuesday, the 21st of May, and I will write about how my first consultation and transplant went.

In February 2024, I messaged the Hairtran clinic and scheduled a video consultation with the doctor, as I live in Canada. About two weeks later, I had a video consultation with Dr. Patty. In our initial consultation, I was quoted 2,500 grafts to restore my hairline, and I booked my appointment for May that same day.

I came to Bangkok, Thailand, one day before my appointment and went to see the doctor on Tuesday, which was my day for the transplant. It started with my having to fill out paperwork with my information, and then one of the staff there took me to a room to take photos of my head. After, I went to a room where they poked a little hole in my finger to take my blood for an HIV test before starting. After all of this, I got to meet the doctor, who, after looking at me, immediately told me I had a lot of veins on my forehead. I'd more than likely get bruised for a few days after the surgery, and then she started looking at my hairline and drawing the new hairline and told me I needed roughly 1,680 grafts and not 2,500, which caught me off guard. I became very happy, and I proposed lowering my hairline a bit, too, since I have a naturally long forehead. She agreed to reduce it by 0.3 cm, and in total, it came out to 2,280 grafts.

After I consulted with the doctor, I went to another room to get my hair washed and cut for the transplant to start. When the staff cut my hair, they took me for another set of pictures before taking me to the hair transplant room to start. They put eye covers on my eyes so when they spray the saline solution on my hair, it doesn't go in my eyes.

The transplant started with me getting one injection of anaesthesia (I think) in the back of my head, and then they rolled me over and started injecting me on the front, which, if I'm being honest, I didn't feel most of the injections except for maybe one or two. Then, the doctor started making the incision on the forehead, and after we were done, I was allowed to go to the bathroom before proceeding with the back.

We finally started with the extraction phase of the transplant. I will admit most of the needles were injected into the back. I didn't feel most of the injection again, except for two, where I screamed ouch. Now, I didn't realise it at the time, but this part was the worst, as laying face down on the massage table was so uncomfortable. I had to move three times before they were done. I felt so bad for the team there because I kept bothering them while they were extracting grafts.

Finally, after the graft extraction, we moved on to drawing blood for my PRP and lunch break. After the lunch break, I came back and began the PRP injection and implanting the hair. Almost two hours later, we were done, but the doctor told me I had very thick skin, so they had to keep pushing the grafts in because they kept popping out, and a few of them were bleeding, so I had to stop the bleeding with the gauze they gave me when I was back at the hotel.

Finally, they took more pictures of me, put the gauze on, and gave me a few things to take home (medication and gauze). Then they sent me home. Now, I'll admit, I was a bit dizzy and asked one of the people there if they could help me get a taxi, and they walked me to the exit and helped me get one.

I'm currently on day three post-op, and I think the three grafts which were bleeding in the day one post-op picture were lost. Other than that, everything seems to be going great. Surprisingly, I haven't had any swelling, but I have bruising at the top of my forehead, which was expected. Dr Patty looked at my head on Day 2, and she said wow, you are healing quickly.

In summary, the staff there are amazing and accommodating, and the Dr is very good at what she does. I recommend anyone looking for a hair transplant to consult with Dr Patty as she's very talented and knows exactly what she's doing.

The last four pictures are of today day 17.

Hello everyone,

Today is day 30, and I'm posting my progress report pictures. I noticed in the donor area Dr. Patty went quite a bit high, and that's why some parts of my upper donor area look a bit empty, but I'm hopeful it will fill out!

Interested to know how much dr patty was involved in the extractions the incisions and then the placements .

Could you give us a detailed account of her actual involvement in these processes

Thanks

I'm honestly not sure as they cover your eyes. I did get up about three times to go to the bathroom and Dr. Patty was not in the room. The first time was when they were extracting the donor hair and the next two times were during implementation.
