devin
Hey Guys, Ive been taking proscar, breaking into 4ths, to make 1.25 mg per day. Ive been taking it about 10 months now and noticed increased shedding at about 3 weeks. The shedding has not stopped and got worse at six months to now. Hair is thinner (at the crown) than when i started and i do not notice any regrow (not sure what im looking for though). My question is should i continue? Is the shedding just my natural hairloss and proscar is not working or do you think its time to let the proscar go because its increasing my shedding. Thanks for the help! Senior Member BigBill1234 Posted February 8, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 8, 2010 Devin, I feel the same has happened to me. Started in June and seem to have lost more hair than ever!
Senior Member Severn Posted February 9, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 9, 2010 I'm no doctor but there's no way in hell I would continue to take any medication if the shedding lasted 10 months. 2-4 months tops. But this is the first I've heard of continued shedding from fin. I've read quite a few instances of it happening on avodart though. devin
I have a perscription for it. Its actually a generic version of fin. Basically a generic substitute for proscar. Anyone heard of this being an issue? Thanks.
Senior Member hdude46 Posted February 10, 2010 Senior Member Share Posted February 10, 2010 No idea...maybe try the brand name proscar for another 6 months and then make an evaluation.
