Louis89
Hi, I have a budget of around €3000 and that is really my maximum. I have attached 2 photos of quotes I have received from 2 clinics and looking for some advice please. The first quote is from a hair mill (smile hair clinic). I understand hair mills have a mixed reputation but I am willing to pay the extra for the exclusive package which include the incisions to be done by a doctor rather than an assistant and not sure how much difference this will make. My second quote is from a more reputable hair clinic but with the VIP package costing around €5000 (over my affordable price range) I am only able to afford their standard package of around €3000. This package does NOT include the extraction of grafts from Dr Gur although he is involved in the other parts. My question is do I go to a hair mill with the top package of having a doctor or do I go to a reputable clinic but with the supervision of an experienced Dr? Thank you
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted May 2, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted May 2, 2023 How old are you and can you post photos if your current hair loss? Surgery is really a last resort. I’m not a doctor but if you are not on medication I would suggest that you give medication a good 12 months to see how you respond. Male pattern baldness is progressive. If you are struggling to pay the bargain basement prices from a hair mill like Smile Hair Clinic then my concern is how you will be able to pay for future surgeries, medication, etc? What if you get butchered? How will you afford to pay for repair surgery? Your donor hair is finite. Your not buying a car. It’s better to hold off and save up for an elite surgeon or do nothing. All the best. GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Louis89
I am 33. I was thinking that paying the extra for a qualified doctor with smile hair clinic will surely not result in my hair getting butchered? Can you recommend any medication/shampoos to use as I am willing to give this a try. Thank you.
Valued Contributor Gatsby Posted May 2, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted May 2, 2023 Have you looked into Finasteride and minoxidil? GATSBY 'UNPLUGGED!' 15,671 (3 surgeries) Grafts FUE+BHT Dr. Sethi Eugenix
Regular Member Renegade Posted May 2, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted May 2, 2023 Makes no sense to do a HT if you not tried medication. You'll just continue loosing hair. Even if you do one rn, you'll need 2 sessions, so you're not going to fill out everything directly anyway. Use minoxidil and finasteride for a year. If you respond well you could regain a large portion of your hair back. Then check in with a HT clinic for a proposal. Until then you will have saved up more money and possibly regrown alot of hair. So you will have more money to pay for less hairs.
Senior Member Britanium Posted May 2, 2023 Senior Member Share Posted May 2, 2023 Echoing what’s been mentioned already, consider meds to try and prevent more loss. Save up more to get a better choice of clinic/Dr. Always choose a reputable clinic over a hair mill, even when they mention a Dr being involved, who is this Dr? Dr Turan/Dr Gur do good work and both have results that can be viewed, both here and elsewhere. In the hands of “Smile” I never see decent results, a lot of poor results are pulled from view. Louis89
Thank you everybody for the information. I have ordered finasteride tablets but not sure which brand of minoxidil to order? I live in the uk and it’s mainly ‘regaine’ that comes up thanks
Regular Member Belve Posted May 2, 2023 Regular Member Share Posted May 2, 2023 I think dr Gur is better option..you don’t have to select the vip package if fe Gur. His standard package is very good since his tech team is experienced in doing extractions and doing great work.
Valued Contributor A_4_Archan Posted May 2, 2023 Valued Contributor Share Posted May 2, 2023 I would echo others others about the medication use...give it a go for atleast 8-10 months and see if you can tolerate it and if you achieve good results from that...if your budget its that than imo you should consider dr turan ,dr yaman and dr kongkiat laorwong...i believe that the the perfect budget ones....that jst my opinion and you can do your own research...
