Bicer vs Ferreira for 2nd tranplant?

Recommended Posts

I had my 1st transplant done by Dr. Bicer in last year (3700 grafts) - . It is already almost the full year and I'm very happy - the hairline is natural and it just so much difference!
However, doing my long research (like most of you) I was convinced to choose Dr. Ferreira in Portugal. Unfortunatelly he was booked for a year and Dr. Bicer had a free spot so I decided to go with her.

I'm NW6 and I still need a second surgery to cover it all. Dr Bicer says, that 2000-2500 grafts should be enough to do the job. During my in-face consultation with Dr. Ferreira he said that I need at least 3500 grafts. He checked her job and said that overall it is a good job (he can improve the hairline a little bit) but my biggest concern is that he thinks that donor area was harvested a little bit aggressive ( he can still take out 5000 grafts). There is of course a significant difference in their prices (Ferreira takes 2.5x more) but if the HT is for life I don't have problem to pay more.

What do you think is better option? I can go with Bicer and see if 2500 grafts could be enough, but my fear is that her 'donor management' can be a little bit worse and after that I won't have more grafts to take. Honestly I don't really think that 2500 grafts will cover it all. I see that her approach is to do just enough and save more donors for the future (I'm 29). and Dr. Ferreira is trying to do the full restoration with 2/3 tranplans that should last for life. Thank you guys for your opinion

Dr. Ferreira is a higher tier surgeon than Bicer in my eyes.  If budget isn't an issue, I'd always personally go for the best you can get.

If you were satisfied with Dr Bicer in your first hair transplant, then go with Dr Bicer again. She knows your case more. Its better to stay with the same surgeon
